Screen shots of OGA Notifications experience
The user receives a System Tray invitation to download and install updates.
The user is prompted to review a supplementary EULA that describes OGA Notifications. If they decline, the download is canceled. If they accept, the download continues.
OGA Notifications have been downloaded. The user must restart their computer. After restart, OGA Notifications will validate Office.
If validation determines Office is not genuine, the user receives this dialog the first 14 days after Notifications are installed.
This dialog box appears the FIRST time a user opens an Office application each day, and approximately two hours later (if the user is still using Office).
The dialog box is presented a maximum of two times each 24 hour period
This copy of Microsoft Office is not genuine. Click here to learn more.
After 30 days of Dialog Box notifications, if no action is taken to get genuine, the user’s Office applications are marked “not genuine”.
For those using Office XP / 2003, this mark is a toolbar inserted below the menu.
After 30 days of Dialog Box notifications, if no action is taken to get genuine, the user’s Office applications are marked “not genuine”.
For those using Office 2007, a tab is inserted into the 2007 ribbon. It is the first tab seen when an Office app is launched.
If the user selects a Ribbon tab other than the “Get Genuine Office” tab (in this scenario, they have selected the “Home” tab), the Genuine logo is still positioned at the far right of every other tab.
The Dialog Box and the genuine mark both direct the user to the Office Genuine Advantage web page.
The user can select the blue “Next Steps” button below the validation results for step-by-step guidance on resolving validation failures.
They can also see offers for genuine software, including an area that will be customized by Microsoft subsidiaries to highlight key partners.
