Welcome and Introduction Welcome to Butte, Montana! It is an honor to have you take the time to review our information today. The goal of this information packet is to provide churches with information regarding this new church plant in the city of Butte. In addition, we would like you to have the opportunity to be a part of it! Since September 2017, Dustin Beck and his family, with the support of Lighthouse Baptist Church and Pastor Avery Varnadore of Welcome, NC have been working diligently to raise the needed support to reach the city of Butte and start this new church. It has been determined that the new church will be named Grace Baptist Church. As we work through the many facets of the church plant, our family has purchased a home and now live in Butte as weprepare to start the new church. This is where YOU come in. About Us Dustin Beck is married to his wife, Melissa, since 2005. Together, they have two children, Devin and Lydia. Dustin and Melissa grew up in Lexington, NC where they met while working at a local Food Lion grocery store. Melissa was saved at the time (since 11 years old), and Dustin was not. Early in the relationship, Melissa invited Dustin to go to church with her, which was the first time Dustin had ever been in a true Gospel preaching Independent Baptist Church. Within the following weeks, Dustin came to know Christ as his personal Saviour (Spring 2001). Since February 2010, the family has been members of Lighthouse Baptist Church, where Dustin was called into the ministry as a preacher. Dustin started attending Calvary Baptist Bible College in August 2010 while working a full-time career as a Software Systems Analyst for an international grocery chain. In April of 2018, Dustin graduated from CBBC with his Bachelor of Theology degree. In 2012, God started working on the heart of Dustin about the state of Montana. Through hearing some statistics about the state, God started giving a burden for the people there. In June 2013, the family traveled to Montana to conduct a survey trip, as Dustin felt that God was directing them to start a church in the state. Toward the end of the trip, God clearly directed Dustin and Melissa to the city of Butte, where God confirmed that they are to start the church. God gave Dustin a verse of scripture saying:
“But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.” – Matthew 9:36

Roles in the Church ➢ Assisted Youth Director from 2010 until 2018 (start of full-time deputation)
o Filled in teaching teen youth group Sunday School and/or mid-week classes as needed
o Assisted with event planning when needed and assisted with events in various capacities
➢ Started College & Career Sunday School Class
➢ Filled in preaching or teaching in the absence of our pastor or teachers of various classes
➢ Held “church services” in the local correctional center monthly and filled in for the chaplain as
needed on Sunday mornings
➢ Assisted with and directed Soul Winning Outreach visitation and member/visitor visits
➢ Served three terms as deacon, where I learned much about the “behind the scenes” business
dealings of the church.
➢ Taught classes during VBS along with assisting with the design and setup for it
Deputation Ministry Our family was commissioned to plant the church in Butte, Montana in April of 2017. We started part-
time deputation in September 2017 while maintaining a full-time job and supporting my wife and kids at
home. In April 2018, we decided to take the leap of faith and quit my full-time job and go full-time on
deputation. God has been there every step of the way and has grown our faith in tremendous ways. I
have had the opportunity to preach and/or share the ministry in 200+ churches and see people saved
and make various decisions for Christ. It is a blessing to have the support of so many churches behind us
in prayer and in financial support to help start the church in Butte.

The Process and Vision
Our vision is to see a new Independent Baptist Church planted in the city of
Butte, Montana. As we reach out to the city of Butte and surrounding areas,
we want to serve the community as we work with students, first responders,
and the everyday people throughout the city of Butte in sharing the love of
Christ throughout the area. We want to be a hospital for the souls in need.

“Christ First” Outreach What is the “Christ First” Outreach? It is an
evangelical outreach where we will be knocking
on doors and trying to share Christ with all that
will hear, and leaving door hangers where there
is no answer. We will also be pushing out
mailers to the city. All literature going out,
including the website will have the baseline
imagery shown to the left and bottom, so that
everything will have a similar look and feel.
The following is an outline of the events that will unfold during this first phase of
the church plant:
➢ HopeForButte.com is Live!
o This website is already live and will be promoted through a few key methods:
❖ Facebook Advertising: https://www.facebook.com/HopeForButte
❖ City Billboard: Ideally located on one of
the city billboards south of I-90
❖ Door Hangers: During our door
knocking, we will leave door hangers
where the people are not home.
❖ Hope Tracts: Custom tracts have been
created that will advertise the Gospel of
Christ along with some information
about the new church and this website.
❖ We have 50 Yard Signs to be distributed
throughout the city, along with the
website to promote the Gospel.
➢ Door Knocking
o We plan to reach as many homes in Butte as
we can during our evangelical push. o Pray for us that we can see souls saved and start a Bible study prior to the Get
Acquainted meetings where we can have some new converts ready to help us get
started.

Suggestions for a Great Music Program
➢ Make sure the music is well pared, well-practiced, and as professional as possible.
o Songs should be primarily evangelistic in nature.
➢ Do not leave it to the last minute to get it ready.
➢ The music should be evangelistic, lively, and up-beat but it should be conservative in nature
o Provide Pastor Beck the song list in advance (including special music)
➢ Only “live” piano or pre-recorded instrumentals that are pre-approved may be used.
➢ Use only those who are faithful and will not back out at the last minute.
➢ If you need a pianist, please let us know in advance.
➢ Use songs that the groups have done in your church services.
➢ Have more than one number ready as to fit the order of service.
➢ If the group “hits it off” with the congregation, they may be asked to sing more at end of the service.
➢ Have those involved in specials at the meeting early so they can get the feel for the facilities & piano
➢ Have a “back-up” ready in case of emergency.
➢ If you have someone for offertory, we will use it.
Suggestions for Ushers/Greeters
➢ It is important to have men who know how to greet people and are faithful.
➢ Have one man in charge of the usher group.
➢ The “greeters” should get the visitors to sign a visitor card if possible.
➢ Some will be unwilling to sign a card until they come back for the second or third night.
➢ Do not force someone to sign a card.
➢ Visitor’s cards will be on each seat with the songbook.
➢ The ushers should seat visitors in various areas among church people who are attending meetings.
➢ The ushers will take up the offering as well.

Suggestions for the Nursery Workers
➢ These ladies should be ones working in your church nursery.
➢ They should see this as a ministry and not as a chore.
➢ They are as important to the success of the meetings as the preacher.
➢ They should be at the services early.
➢ They should be extra friendly to those who bring their children to the meetings.
➢ They should make the nursery as nice as possible with the facilities we have available.
Suggestions for those Attending the Meetings from Your Church
➢ Have a sign-up sheet so we have an idea how many will be attending.
➢ They should be extra friendly and warm to those they do not know at the meeting.
➢ They should scatter out and not all sit in the same section or area.
➢ They should be torward the front and the back, leaving more of the middle area for visitors from the
area.
➢ They should visit with those from the area and let them know they support Pastor Beck in
establishing this new church.
➢ Make sure they know they are helping to start a new church and they will feel a sense of
accomplishment when the meeting is done.
Suggestions for Refreshments
➢ Place someone in charge for each night your church is responsible.
➢ Have them bring things that are light and easy to look after.
➢ There should be coffee, tea, and something cold to drink (bottle waters are good).
➢ This is not a “pot luck” type but just “dessert” type things in order to get people to stay and
fellowship.
Miscellaneous Suggestions
➢ Begin promoting the meetings as soon as possible.
➢ Have special prayer for this week of meetings in your church.
➢ Have teens baby-sit for families that may like to come but may not want to bring their young
children. They should not charge for this but do it as a help to the new church.
➢ Have your people understand that if they cannot come, they can pray for us during the week.
