5The IIHMR UniversityEstablished in 1984 in Jaipur, IIHMR is the first of its kind in India, with attention solely focused on health systems management. The University undertakes education, training, research and consultancy in hospital management, health management, pharmaceutical management and rural management and related health concerns. The Institute of Health Management Research has been established as the IIHMR University vide Act No. 3 of 2014 of the Government of Rajasthan. In subsequent information, the organisation will be addressed as the IIHMR University.
The Universitys campus is spread over an exquisitely landscaped area of 14.37 acres with a lush green cover, characterized by stark and majestic buildings in stone creating monumental spaces with minimal dcor. The serene ambiance has inspired students to strive for excellence. The University is well equipped with student friendly infrastructure. The spacious campus located amidst greenery provides for the right learning ambience.
Dr. D.A. Henderson Library and Documentation Centre has a well-balanced collection of books, journals and other learning material. It is committed to providing user-friendly services and easy access to facilities. The library collection is mainly focused on Health Management, Hospital Administration, Public Health, Health Economics, Epidemiology, Population Sciences, Human Resource Management, Management Information Systems, Project Management, Pharmaceutical Management, Rural Management, Computer Science, etc. It has a collection of more than 29600 volumes including textbooks, reference books, training material, case studies, manuals, reports and conference proceedings. In addition, it has audio and video cassettes, over 130 national and international journals, newsletters, CD-ROM databases, from India and abroad. The library is subscribing to ProQuest and J-Gate e-Journals database. It has DELNET (Developing Library Network) membership, Indiastat.com, and Popline databases. The librarys acquisition, cataloguing, circulation and serial control are totally computerized under Libsys Software with WebOPAC. The library also houses Udai Pareek HRD Resource Centre.
The IT centre is well-equipped with state-of-the-art computing resources. The centre has adequate infrastructure and services which are available round the clock throughout the year. It is equipped with latest servers, desktop computers, laptops, laser printers, video conferencing facility, and technically competent software and hardware professionals. Fast speed Internet access is available with the help of dedicated lease line. Internet facility is made available to the staff, students and training participants for external communication and for global exposure to research and training. 6personal computer/laptop. The high speed servers running on a variety of platforms suit all kinds of requirements to support the entire network.
Besides providing support to the ongoing activities of The University like research, teaching, training and consultancy, the centre is actively engaged in software development for managing health programmes and hospitals effectively.
All the lecture halls are equipped with LCD projectors, required teaching aids and techniques. They are spacious and specifically designed to facilitate participative learning environment. Every lecture hall has a computer connected to the Wi-Fi network that allows the faculty to retrieve relevant information.
The IIHMR University has hostel facility on the campus for the students. The IIHMR University provides spacious, well furnished and air-cooled hostel facilities with all modern amenities and conveniences.
A healthy body is an abode for a healthy mind. The IIHMR University therefore conducts various sports and other recreation activities for students. The facilities include swimming pool, gymnasium, tennis court, play grounds, and basket ball court, etc. The students celebrate various functions and cultural events at The University.

It is a flagship educational program which aims to develop trained professional managers with requisite skills in planning, implementation, operational management, diagnosis and problem solving, consultancy, and entrepreneurship. This is with a view to preparing them to manage hospitals and healthcare institutions globally, both in the public and the private sectors, thus meeting the demand for quality healthcare management.
The University builds achievers through the program. Our students have won prizes in many inter-campus and national competitions in academic and non-academic activities. In view of the burgeoning demand for development professionals who can hit the ground running in a variety of sectors, the MBA in Rural Management is committed to developing a cadre of trained professional managers who are capable of managing rural development organizations, both in the public and the private sectors.
The primary objective of the coursework is to facilitate integrative learning in the deepest sense of the term, so that graduates are able to walk into professional roles with ease, and play a vital role both at the operational and strategic levels in their jobs. Experiencing Field Realities
Two Weeks of Field Work Preparation. This time will be spent on workshops related to ethnographic and quantitative research methods, reflective writing, and perspective building.
Six Weeks of Village Stay: Students will spend time learning about the ground realities of rural life, the changing character of the rural economy and culture, and will use their time in the village to document these experiences. Preliminary skills in research and writing will be developed through these experiences.
Two Weeks of Reflective and Analytical Writing on prescribed themes: On their completion of the village stay, students will analyze and share their findings.
All of these experiences and findings will be evaluated by faculty committees at the end of the term.

Although many managers and organizations recognize the importance of managing the work force effectively and even know what effective approaches are, it is surprising how frequently firms fail to implement effective human resource management analysis and practices. Therefore, this course has two central themes:
How to think systematically and strategically about aspects of managing the organizations human assets, and
What really needs to be done to implement these policies and to achieve competitive advantage through people.
The aim of the course is both to impart knowledge as well as to stimulate discussion about the values and beliefs that stand in the way of implementing this knowledge.
MBA Human Resource for Health and Hospitals course is being launched to meet the needs of individuals presently engaged or aspiring to build a career in the area of Human Resource Management in Hospitals and/or Healthcare Organizations. The course is two years full time programme.

The MBA Procurement and Supply Chain Management in Health
is a two-year full-time program and is designed to enrich the
students with knowledge of the latest management tools and

Visa Requirements
Applicants should have valid passport and student visa. The visa
can be obtained from the Indian missions abroad by producing a
letter of confirmed offer of admission from The IIHMR University,
Jaipur.
A visa is not required for NRI students.
No Objection Certificate: Students do not require a No Objection
Certificate for joining professional courses. All international
students wishing to undertake any research work or join a PhD or
M Phil programme will have to obtain prior security clearance
from the Ministry of Home Affairs and the approval of the
Department of Secondary and Higher Education, Ministry of
Human Resource Development, Government of India, and this
must be on the research visa endorsed to this institution.
They should also obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the
Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India.
Health Requirements
All applicants are required to submit, along with their applications, a
certificate of good health from a licensed physician based on a medical
examination performed during the same year of the application.
Supernumerary Seats
21% supernumerary seats in all courses will be reserved for
international students including Persons of Indian Origin. Out of the
21% supernumerary seats, 7% will be reserved for NRIs.
Rules framed by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and notified
in its website www.ugc. ac.in will be followed for deciding the eligibility
and admission of international students to various courses offered by
The IIHMR University.

Mode of PaymentFees can be paid through DD/RTGS/NEFT and should be paid in favour

Hostel Accommodation FeeSeparate hostel facility for boys and girls is available. Room rent is
payable on yearly basis as per The IIHMR University, Jaipur norms.
Fee Refund PolicyIn case, a student/candidate withdraws before the starting of the
academic session, the fee will be refunded as per The University
norms. If a candidate leaves after commencement of the course, will
not be entitled for fee refund.
ScholarshipsThe University offers limited scholarships.
The University will award medals on the basis of overall excellence in
the academic performance in each MBA course. The University will
also award for the best dissertation and summer training reports.
Policy Towards RaggingThe University observes Zero Tolerance policy to ragging and expels
students found guilty of maltreating freshers. Any student accused of
ragging would be given a chance to explain his conduct and, if found
guilty, will be straightaway expelled from The University. Every student
and parent/Guardian should compulsorily submit a signed affidavit.
Evaluation ProcessEvaluation of a candidates performance is a continuous process. To be
recommended for the award of the degree, candidates are required to
achieve a prescribed standard in the total course work, including both
mid-term and end-term examinations.
Award of DegreeThe following are the requirements for passing the examination and
award of the degree.
Attendance: Every student is expected to attend all the classes
(not less than 75% in any case). No unauthorized absence from
field placement is permitted.
Examination: A students performance will be judged in the mid-
term and end-term examinations. Every course carries a
maximum of 100 marks. The mid-term exam includes
assignments, class participation and written exams, whereas the
end-term includes written exams. To clear a course every student
has to score a minimum of 50% marks.
Summer Training: Summer training is an integral part of the
course. Every student in required to write a summer training
report. The students are assessed on the basis of their
performance during summer training.
Dissertation and Internship: Every student is required to write a
dissertation and an internship report. The students are assessed
on the basis of their performance in the dissertation and
internship.
PlacementThe University has a fully functional Placement Cell which plays an
instrumental role in facilitating the careers of the students. The
Placement Cell comprises of Dean, Academic and Student Affairs, as
the Faculty Advisor, Deputy General Manager (Academics), and
Assistant Manager (Academics and Placements) which acts towards
the successful arrangement of training and placements of the
students. The Placement Committee which comprises of the student
representatives from all the streams plays an important role in the
Placement Cell. The Placement Cell facilitates the following activities:
a) Placements for summer training in the first year;
b) Placements for dissertation and internship in the second year; and
c) Campus placements for the outgoing students.

On completion of the programme, students become part of a network of alumni which plays an important role in the development of students.
