Informatica Cloud Express Overview What is Informatica Cloud Express? On Monday December 6th, Informatica announced a new pay-per-use pricing model for our very popular Data Loader Service for salesforce.com customers. Pricing starts at $99 USD and goes up based on the number of records that you move every month. Express introduces usage-based billing starting at $99/month USD for the Data Loader Service.

Pricing is based on the number of records (rows of data) that are processed (integrated/moved) each month.

Monthly commitment. No annual subscriptions. Credit card billing only. Flexible scheduling and online customer support are included. Easy upgrade to more advanced editions of Informatica Cloud for broader and more complex

requirements, such as lookups, task flows, and additional end points.

Why Informatica Cloud Express? Informatica Cloud Express opens the door for organizations of all sizes to leverage the industry-leading data integration capabilities of Informatica Cloud – voted the Best Integration Application of 2010, 2009, and 2008 by salesforce.com customers on AppExchange. As industry analyst and author David Linthicum put it:

“This is a wonderful model considering that, while some enterprises do gigs a day in information flowing between on-premise and cloud-based systems, many operate with a much lighter data integration load. In the past, neither customer had the pay-as-you-go option.”

Is Informatica Cloud Express only for Salesforce customers? Yes. Users of Express can move data between Salesforce and one instance of a database (MySQL, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server) or file. How do you purchase Express? First install the Informatica Trial, or if you are already have an account, click the “Subscribe” button which allows you to purchase Express with a credit card within Informatica Cloud.

Do I need an active Informatica Cloud account to purchase Express? Yes. You can easily create an account by signing for a free trial.

Billing How does billing work? When you sign up for Express, your credit card will be charged on the last day of each month. Your fee will be determined by the number of rows that Informatica Cloud processed that month. See the table below for details. What is the pricing of the Express tiers based on usage?

* plus applicable US state taxes Do taxes apply to Informatica Cloud Express? US state taxes apply if your billing contact address is in the US. What types of Credit Cards do you accept? We accept Visa, Master Card and American Express. How are different currencies handled? In the initial release, currency conversion rates will be handled directly by your credit card company. We are still working with our billing partner, Zuora, to make this a more seamless process for currencies outside of the US. How will you calculate fees if my data volume changes from month to month? Fees are based on the number of records processed that month. Your fees will change as shown in table above, plus applicable taxes. You will automatically be billed based on your usage that month. How can I track my usage fees? Every month, Informatica will email your billing statement. It will show your data volume and associated subscription fees. Will I be able to monitor the number of records that Informatica Cloud Express processes each month? Yes. In the Administration tab of Informatica Cloud, select Organization. The Monthly Job Row Count field will display the number of records that Informatica Cloud has processed in the current month.

Once I sign up, how do I terminate my Express subscription? You will be able to terminate your month-to-month subscription by contacting Informatica Global Customer Support. Just click the Support link in the upper right corner of any Informatica Cloud page and open a request. Your subscription will be valid until the end of the month in which you initiate the termination. Note that your commitment is monthly. You can terminate at any time during the month to make that your last month of service.

Data Loader Service vs. Express Can you summarize the key differences between DLS and Express? Both DLS and Express are for projects that require data integration between Salesforce and 1 named database instance or file server.

Free Data Loader Service: Meant to be used for ad hoc data loading for organizations performing one time (or rare) imports to or exports from Salesforce CRM and Force.com. It has no scheduling functionality, is capped at 10K records/day, and is not supported by Informatica.

Informatica Cloud Express: Ideal for smaller companies looking for basic daily

synchronization between databases/files (not applications) and Salesforce. It includes flexible job scheduling, online support, and usage-based billing model based on the number of records processed per month.

Express Features Specifics Can I have more than 1 Informatica secure agent installed after subscribing to express edition of IC? No, you can have only 1 secure agent installed after subscribing to express edition of IC. How many jobs can be run per day after subscribing to express edition? There is a limit of 250 jobs that can be executed per day using express edition, but Express users can run unlimited rows per day.

Am I able to use SFDC as both source and target in a Data loader service (DLS)? When you are using a DLS task, you can either have SFDC as either source or target but not both. Why am I unable to view DSS (Data synchronization service) tasks after subscribing to Express edition? Data synchronization tasks will not be visible on IC under Data services> Data synchronization once you subscribe to Express edition of IC. In Express Edition you would have access only to Data loader service. Before subscribing to Express Edition you can create the tasks using Data loader service and then subscribe, so that you would have access to the tasks which you have created after you subscribe. Can I use a lookup feature in DLS tasks? Lookup feature which is used in the step 5 field mapping of a DSS task is not available in express edition of IC. Advanced functionality like lookups, task flow, enterprise application integration and additional end points and Add-ons are not available in DLS or Express. What support is given to Express users? Express customers have community and online/email support. Can you summarize each edition of Informatica Cloud? You can view a detailed overview of each edition on the Informatica Cloud website.
