1. Gimme ShelterMain character is shown vague surroundings looking up for hope, however you can still see pain/agony in her eyes which subtly tells the story Mentions the director of the film showing that it’s important to add that

This is the unique selling point to this film and could encourage certain groups of people who are a fan of the motion pictures to watch this movie. It also makes it seem more interested and more of a big deal

A form of name dropping. Which could encourage people to watch this and attract target audiences based on people who know who he isColour scheme

of orange, white, black and grey used a theme continued

This movie title is the largest writing and is also in a different font and contrasting colour from the rest of the poster to make it stand out as it is one of the most important elements to the piece

Review: Gimme Shelter

I took most of my inspiration for my trailer from this film so therefore it would be wise to take some inspiration from the film poster due to the similar themes. There are a variety of elements to this which makes it stands out to be a unique poster. Which I will hope to emulate.

1. Colour scheme2. Large film name

3. Main character picture4. Writer/Director name

5. Music artist name

These elements work for this piece however there are some elements which I wouldn’t want to use in my piece. Such as the blank background and the high saturation on the main characters picture.

2. Trust Names of key actors who have some significance to the genre are up at the top showing their importance. They are also in a darker colour to stand out

Only the main character is shown on the front. Although you can’t see her properly, the effect is similar to the main theme of the film – internet. The title is made the

biggest in a bright contrasting colour. The font follows the theme of internet with the type writer and the underscore next to it.

The red rose subtly tell the theme of love from the internet through the roses coming out. The roses are put in red to draw attention to the key detail and key theme. This film poster acts as a teaser by giving up inclines to what the film may be about but not giving us anymore. For example they show love may be a theme but they don’t show the possible effects from thatA quick summary of

the movie is shown here. Which makes the audiences decide whether they are interested in the film

At the bottom in small print belittling it’s importance it names the production company and key players in the creation of this move. In orange it also has the release day which makes it stick out

Review: TrustThis film has similar themes to mine and I looked into this film when looking for inspiration for my theme so it seemed right to look into the film poster and see what similar films to my trailer are adding into there posters

1. Relating the film poster to the theme of the film 2. Adding in symbolic colours which relate to the storyline

3. A small pitch/motto to entice the audience4. Small print of production company and all key players

This piece was very interesting as it stuck to a theme and it also featured the same colour scheme as Gimme Sheeter showing that my target audience might be attracted to a specific colour. Also as this film influenced me to open up my target audience to boys as well as a girls I can admire how they kept the film poster gender neutral by not adding gender specific colours like pinks on the poster therefore attracting all types of people.

3. Starving in Suburbia

Pictures of thin girls and body images to implicate the theme of body dissatisfaction. The wings used to shape these pictures could show deeper meanings like she’s an angel or heaven could suggest her end.

This film poster has a real photo with no editing. We can see the character and what she will look like in the movie. You can see her bruised eyes and pain which is effective

Hashtag used for advertising to promote the brand.

Mentions the key actors showing the audience who to expect..

Date and where you can watch it is in bold which

Large different font for the title making it stand out. The motto used is effective as it tells the theme of the film

Review: Starving in Suburbia

This film has the same eating disorder as mine so it was interesting to see how they added this into the film poster in a tasteful way which attracts people to watch this film without scaring them off

1. Collage2. Hashtag

3. Date and place4. Motto

This film poster will really influence mine as this was a low-budget film shown on a TV Channel, I think it fits more into my category rather than a big blockbuster which means I can afford to add the place where my film will be premiered. It also means I won’t have to make it as general, like trust.

4. Dustbin BabyProduction name shown at the top for advertising Two cross faded

images are shown. First one you can see emotion. This is the first film poster which shows more than just the main character

Age rating shown which can easily show which target audience it is for.

Source of influence is shown and what it is based on.

Review: Dustbin BabyThis film poster was actually for a DVD, this has different things on in contrast to the previous three posters I have looked at

1. Age rating2. Production name

3. Source of influence4. Other characters

This film poster although I can take some influences from it is not entirely helpful as I am trying to create a main film poster the influences I can take from it are limited/

Main ideas for my film poster

• Mention music from Sam Smith• 24 word pitch• Hashtags• Colour scheme (white, red, black) to match logo• Relates to the theme of anorexia• Small print of production company name• Date and place• Age rating
