On Your Own: Complete the Influencer Self-Assessment and assess how youre doing with current influence challenges.

Conduct a positive deviance study to validate your vital behaviors and discover strategies that others have used to be successful.

With a Learning Partner/Group: Continue to meet with a learning partner to prepare for your influence challenge. Check in with each other on a weekly basis if

possible to prepare, debrief, and coach each other on how the execution is going.

Choose a new lesson each week to work on with your Learning Partner. Use your toolkit and book; focus on how the current lesson is being applied to any influence challenges you may be facing. What are your frustrations and concerns? What experiences have you had recently with using those particular principles? Hold each other accountable for applying the principles and strategies.

Meet with a small group in a book club environment once a week for thirty minutes to an hour. Assign a specific chapter or principle to discuss and then share your experiences. Ask attendees to bring real-time situations that they can receive help and coaching on. These can be related to work, home or community challenges. You can also access discussion questions on the VitalSmarts website.

Share successes. This can be done by posting stories on an electronic bulletin board or by asking for successes at staff meetings. If your group is quiet, you may want to have everyone share in small groups and ask each group to select the best example to share with the whole team.
