4.2 Setting the Output Voltage of the Engine Generator This machine is designed to operate at a certain voltage under load. The output voltage is determined by the engine RPM (higher RPM, greater output voltage). The output voltage should be set to 59.8V under no load conditions.

IMPORTANT Never set the output voltage greater than 59.8V or damage to the electrical components could occur.

The output voltage should only need to be set prior to first use and periodically checked thereafter. To set the voltage you will need a standard multi meter as highlighted in Figure 4 below.

IMPORTANT you must be capable of using a multi meter before attempting to set the output voltage. If in doubt seek advice from a suitably qualified person.

Figure 4 Typical Multimeter

To set the output voltage first install the Engine/Generator on the machine as described in 4.1above. Attach the generator connector to the loom connector as highlighted in Figure 5 below.

Figure 5 Power Connector

Remove the light connector cover as highlighted in Figure 6 light connector below and put in a safe place for re-attachment later. Start the engine as described in 6.6 below. Using the multimeter, take your voltage reading from the

light connector IMPORTANT black wire/ground, blue wire positive and adjust the engine RPM until your output voltage reads 59.8V. Now lock the engine RPM with the throttle adjusting screw as highlighted in Figure 9 Throttle

Adjusting Screw below and re-attach the light connector cover. IMPORTANT Now put the generator under a small load by running it for a short distance (it is not necessary to run the cutter). Once the machine has been run, re-check the output voltage again and adjust to 59.8V if necessary. Re-check the output voltage after the first 2 hrs of use.
