Inexpensively advertise your online business offline - Waco Small Business Online business owners tend to think that because they are strictly an online company, 100% of their advertising should be done online. Not true. There are ways to reach new customers offline as well, without expensive billboard or commercial ads. The #1 tried and true form of free advertising is word of mouth. Not only should your friends and family know about your business, don't be afraid to enlist them as your 'street team'. Ask them to mention your business to those they know, and/or meet, whom they feel would benefit from whatever you offer online. Another form of low cost offline advertising is to do a business ad exchange with local businesses. In exchange for adding either a website link or businesses information (name, location, phone #, etc) on your site, see if you can leave promotional items (such as pens, informational postcards, or businesses cards) in a prominent place within their business; preferably on the checkout counter. Be sure that the businesses you exchange with is not a direct competitor of what you offer online. Holding a free informational seminar is also a cost effective form of offline advertising. You could control the number of guest and briefly introduce and describe what you offer online, as well as how to best navigate through your site. These could be local or in whichever city you deem haves the highest number of potential customers. It would be best to advertise for said event offline as well: lawn signs, newspaper ad, postcard mail outs, and at businesses with whom you do ad exchanges with. Finally, let your current customers help spread the word by including a free promotional item with every order, such as a small bumper sticker or window decal that has your website information on it, preferably just your website address.
