General Information The 2019 Indy Parks and Recreation summer day camp program offers a wide variety of
opportunities including swimming, arts, nature, science, and sports and recreation. All
camps follow a set of high program standards and are accredited by the American Camp
Association (ACA). Limited scholarships are offered based on financial need. Download

Summer adventure awaits at Frederick Douglass Park! Our 7-week day
camp promises excitement, exploration, and daily adventures. Our combi-
nation of weekly themes, field trips, guest presenters, art, sports & fitness
guarantees a summer your child won't forget. Our highly qualified staff will
make sure that your child has a safe and unforgettable summer experience.
This camp is not eligible for the early bird discount. Register multiple chil-

Summer Day Camp (Ages 6-13)
Riverside Park offers campers a waterpark, the Colts Fitness Park, and lots
of indoor and outdoor space to experience camp activities. Trained staff will
facilitate weekly field trips, along with arts and crafts, sports and nature
activities in beautiful Riverside Park.

• All registrations accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis.
• Accepted forms of payment: Cash, Check (payable to Indy Parks), Visa, MasterCard,
American Express/Discover.
• To secure your camper’s spot, you must complete all registration forms and pay a
$15 non-refundable registration fee per registered week per child at the time of
registration. The remaining balance will be due by 6 p.m. on Wednesday before the
week of camp begins. Failure to meet the Wednesday payment deadline will result in
your child’s name being removed from the registration list. *Some specialty camps
require payment in full at registration.
Day Camp Refund Policy Indy Parks will issue a full refund if the camp is cancelled.
If a camper is withdrawn from a camp at Garfield Arts Camp, Southeastway, Eagle Creek, or Holliday notice must be received two weeks prior to the first day of camp. A refund will be given minus $15.00. The $15 fee is not refundable or transferable. If the camper is withdrawn less than two weeks prior to first day of camp the refund will be 50%. If a camper is withdrawn from a traditional camp or GATHER a refund will be given minus $15. The $15 fee is not transferable or refundable. If a camper has to transfer to another week of camp, there will be a $15.00 per camper, per camper for all camps.
If a medical emergency occurs after the two-week deadline. A refund minus the $15 fee will be issued. A written note is required from a physician for medical emergen-cies. All refunds could take up to six weeks.
Counselors
All Indy Parks Day Camp Counselors have received more than 30 hours of camp
programming training prior to camp, and are over the age of 16. All counselors are
certified in CPR and First Aid, and have been screened through a complete background
and criminal history check. All staff have been selected for their experience, special
talents, sensitivity, and creativity.

Camp CLAY (Ages 9-13)
Get ready to play with mud during this week of clay hand building projects. Learn various techniques for creating pottery, sculptures, masks, and more! Work with an artist instructor to learn more about the art of clay hand building to create one-of-a-kind projects. In addition, the session ends with an art exhibit that friends and family are welcome to come and enjoy! Our trained and qualified staff will provide a fun, safe, quality experience for each camper. Under the leadership of the Christian Park staff, your child will spend time
exploring the great outdoors, trying new activities, and having fun. This
camp provides a safe, fun and active environment in which children will

All of the Traditional Indy Parks Day Camps participate in the USDA Summer Food Program. This program provides a healthy, well balanced lunch to all chil-dren in attendance each day. Menu items change each week and include a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, milk and a sandwich, wrap or cold cut sub. All meals

Roberts Photography Camp (Ages 11-16)
Discover the fundamentals of photography in a week-long camp at Holliday Park, run by instructors from Roberts Camera. This camp introduces your child to basics photography concepts and camera settings. It will also allow for lots of indoor and outdoor shooting time within the park! Campers must bring their own camera (DSLR and Mirrorless camera's only). One of the main goals is to help campers understand the relationship between shutter speed, aperture and ISO, in which case iPhone cameras are not permitted. We want your child to get excited about photography and teach them to get more out of their camera. This camp is not eligible for a scholarship.

Camp GATHER on the MOVE (Ages 14-18)
Camp Gather on the Move is a therapeutic recreation camp for youth, ages 14 to 18. Gather on the Move is one of a few summer day camps in Indianap-olis that provides comprehensive services to teen and young adults who have physical and/or intellectual disabilities. Gather on the Move campers will take part in activities that will help them become more self-sufficient in their daily living. Activities include home life skills, community programs and building daily communication skills. Campers will also participate in daily swimming, nature walks, large & small motor skills activities, life skills work-shops, and weekly art projects. Camp is offered for six weeks and campers can sign up for one or all weeks. Camper to counselor ratio is 3:1.

Outdoor Adventure (Ages 13-15)
Adventure seekers please apply. Campers will go on several outdoor adventure trips and learn basic outdoor living skills. This camp may feature an overnight camping trip at Bradford Woods, a canoe trip on the Driftwood River and a day on the Go Ape tree tops ropes course at Eagle Creek. Campers will learn how to build a shelter, cook over a fire, work a Coleman stove, paddle a canoe and more. Start and end times of each day may vary. Thursday night is the overnight camping trip (weather permitting).

week will focus on sports/activities that are played with a bat/paddle/stick.

Indy Parks is guaranteed to make this the wettest week of the summer during
this camp that focuses on activities in or on the water. There is more to water
sports than swimming laps. Activities during the week include swim lessons,
kayaking, log rolling, relay races, and/or snorkeling. Parents can feel comfort-
able knowing that the pool will have life guards on duty when campers are in
or around the pool. There will be additional fun activities outside of the pool
during the week.
