Industrial IoT (IIoT) PLUGFEST 2018 Competency enhancement for SMEs • Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) PLUGFEST 2018 was a three-day event which was held from the 27th till 29th November 2018, at Penang Skills Development Centre (PSDC), Bayan Lepas, Penang. • This event was organized by EEPN’s Key Strategy #3 sub-team, which is to accelerate the adoption of Industry 4.0. • The workshops aimed to educate and empower the talent within the E&E Industry by bringing industry players, ecosystems providers and key government agencies together to coach, prepare and enable participants to carry out Proof of Concept (POC) projects each at their company using IIoT technology with the goal to improve productivity. • The event was split into 2 phases, which was conducted over 3 days, namely: - 1.5 days workshop on introduction to I4.0, IIoT, project consideration and productivity methodologies. - 1.5 days hands-on session on IoT devices setting up, configuring dashboard and system integration using various protocols. • The event was complemented by supporting technical partners who acted as coaching resources • A total of 32 engineers (plus 6 lecturers) attended from 17 companies (SME & MNCs). • Together, they managed to generate 17 IIoT Proof Of Concept (POCs). “I am glad that I took time to attend this training as I have learnt a lot from the best practices of various instructors” Mr. Mano Subramaniam, Executive Director of Packaging Sales & Service (M) Sdn. Strategic change and business ethics 2. Enlarging your boundaries (mergers, acquisitions and listing) 3. Selecting your game changer and be competitive 4. Business acumen of winning deals 5. Enhancing your client, improving customer satisfaction 6. International business and market access 7. Financing and growing your business for non-financial wizards Wrap-up Session • On the last-day wrap-up session on 24th November 2018, we had a panel discussion. Which was hosted by Dato’ Seri Wong Siew Hai, together with Mr. KC Lau (Executive Director and Group CEO of Inari Amertron Berhad) and Dato' Ooi Kok Seng (KPMG) • Followed by closing remarks, by Dato’ Abdul Latif Abu Seman, Deputy Director General, MPC and Dato’ Seri Wong Siew Hai, Chairman, EEPN • The event ended with a certificate award ceremony to all the successful participants of the course • A total of 22 participants from 21 companies attended this course • Participants were invited to participate in MPC's Business Excellence (ezBE) Survey EEPN Newsletter 2/2018 EEPN co-hosted with Penang Skills Development Centre (PSDC) in their annual Industry 4.0 week, which was held on the 13th and 14th of November 2018. • This objective of the event was to create awareness on the new wave of Industrial Revolution and provided a platform for networking, forming future collaborations, and driving market adoption among manufacturers or suppliers, vendors, system integrators, and consumers. • Themed 'Start Small, Win Big‘, this year's Industry 4.0 Week focused on the success stories of local industries and SMEs. This event also addressed major concerns and setbacks faced by SMEs in embarking in Industry 4.0 journey, and provided better insights of the Industry 4.0 technologies and solutions available. The event was officially launched by YAB Tuan Chow Kon Yeow, Chief Minister of Penang. • Dato’ Seri Wong Siew Hai, as Chairman of EEPN, gave a talk entitled ‘Enhancing E&E Competitiveness in Malaysia’. • There were four sharing sessions on I4.0 implementation success stories, namely from Inari Technology, Nationgate Solution, Kobe Precision Technology and Jabil. • There was also panel discussion with the theme 'Start Small and Win Big: What, Why and How? • This year’s Industry 4.0 Week managed to attract a total of 430 participants. Competency enhancement for SMEs

• Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) PLUGFEST 2018 was a three-day event which was held from the 27th till 29th November 2018, at Penang Skills Development Centre (PSDC), Bayan Lepas, Penang.

• This event was organized by EEPN’s Key Strategy #3 sub-team, which is to accelerate the adoption of Industry 4.0.
