To measure the VSWR.

To measure the return loss.

To measure the cable loss.

To measure the insertion loss.

To measure the forward power.

To measure the reflected power.

USES

Page 11: Industrail Trainining in Telecommunication

It gives graphical representation of the measurement.

It can measure the VSWR with respect to frequency.(780

MHz – 2500 MHz)

It can measure the VSWR with respect to distance.(0 – 500

meter)

It can give multiple reading (up to 6) simultaneously.

It can store the measured traces up to 500.

New measured trace can be compared with the older one.

The traces can be imported or exported from the analyzer to

laptop.

It doesn’t require the BTS for the measurement of VSWR,

return loss, cable loss and insertion loss.

There are three different modes in Site

Analyzer as listed below:-

1. Measure Match Mode

2. Fault Location Mode

3. Measure Power Mode

Suppose site analyzer is initially in fault location

mode. So change the mode to measure match mode

to measure VSWR.

Now we have to calibrate Site Analyzer by using Calibration Kit.In calibration process we set the Site Analyzer internal loss into Zero. It means VSWR of site analyzer goes to 1 at zero meter distance(at the port of site analyzer). We calibrate site analyzer by connecting Open, Short & Load port of calibration kit to RF Antenna port of SA one by one.

Here the fault is at 31m distance. Here we didn’t

consider the VSWR value whatever it is. value is

not used to measure VSWR. The achieved value of

VSWR means in Measure match mode.

According to the graph fault is at 31m distance

which may be at Antenna port or O/D Jumper

cable.

Rectify the fault & measure the VSWR in Measure

match. If still the VSWR value is high again repeat

& rectify fault.

Repeat this action till VSWR goes below

1.30(means 1.30 in measure match mode).
