It will be jointly organized by Indus Foundation, Indian Medical Association, Government of Andhra Pradesh, The Federation of AP Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FAPCCI) Disclosing this in a National Media Meet participated by Mr. Ponnala Lakshmaiah, Minister for Information Technology & Communications, Government of Andhra Pradesh; Mr. C.D.Arha, IAS (Retd.), Former Secretary, Govt. of India, Chairman, The Indus Foundation; Dr. Kakarla Subba Rao, Eminent Radiologist & Former Director, NIMS, Mr. Shiv Kumar Rungta, Senior Vice President, FAPCCI; Dr. N.Appa Rao, Chairman, IMA National Leaders Forum, New Delhi, Chief Coordinator, Indo-Global Healthcare Summit and Mr. S.B. Anumolu, Managing Trustee of The Indus Foundation. They highlighted the salient features of the proposed event. It will be the most comprehensive healthcare event of its kind to be held in Hyderabad with a participation of over 4000 Indian and International delegates. 56 scientific sessions on innovations and advances will be presented by international experts. Its endeavor is to bring who is who of Indian healthcare industry on one single platform. It will be an ideal opportunity for networking, B to B meetings for business collaborations. It also provides Poster presentation and Poster submission opportunities to professionals and research scholars. Also, awards for excellence will be given to Hospitals, Healthcare Professionals, Medical Technology Companies, IT & Healthcare Delivery Companies, Pharmaceutical Companies, Teachers, Students, Others will be presented in recognition of outstanding work. In conjunction with the Summit, Healthcare Expo will also be organized. Expo will showcase hospitals, healthcare centers and clinics, equipment & devices, pharmaceutical products, etc. During the three days of the Expo, nearly 10,000 visitors are expected to visit. The Indian healthcare industry is growing at a rapid pace and is expected to become a US$ 280 billion industry by 2020..Rising income levels and growing elderly populations are all factors that are driving this growth. In addition, changing demographics, disease profiles and the shift from chronic to lifestyle diseases in the country has led to increased spending on healthcare delivery. Even so, nearly one million Indians die every year due to inadequate healthcare facilities and 700 million people have no access to specialist care. 80% of specialists live in urban areas. In order to meet manpower shortages and reach world standards, India would require investments of up to $20 billion over the next 5 years. Affordable and accessible healthcare has captured the discourse on health policy in the country. Innovation and affordability go hand in hand. Frugal innovation has become a hallmark of Indian businesses and entrepreneurship across the world.
