Induction program was arranged by the Departmentof first year Engineering &
Prof. Atiya khan Pathan coordinated the event. Honourable Secretary AISSMS Chhatrapati
Malojiraje Précised over function with his presence. Honourable Treasurer Shri. Ajay Patil &
Honorary Joint Secretary Shri. Ajay Patil encouraged the students by their valuable thoughts.
Principal, Dr P. B. Mane addressed the students and their parents. Dr.Y.P.Patil
(F.E.HOD gave introduction of department, HOD of all the departments, teaching staff members,
parents and students were present for this function. The newly admitted FE students and their
parents were the audience. The information of our institute, rules and regulation of University of
Pune and course content of FE was given to new students.

As a mark of respect to the Teaching Community, our Institute organizing Teachers‟
Day on 5th
September every year. The program includes felicitation of teachers for their various
contributions as well for their achievement in the last academic year. The Program was organized
by Dr.Y.P.Patil (HOD) and Prof A.J.More Coordinator of function Engineering Sciences
Department under the Guidance of Prof.Dr.P.B.Mane, Principal. For this function Guest invited
was Hon.Malojiraje Chatrapati Secretary AISSM Society and Guest of Honor Hon.Jitkar R.M.Joint
Secretary AISSM Society. On this occasion various Entrainment Programs was also organized for
teachers by Students. For evaluating the Best Teacher, Best HOD, Best Department, Best Class etc
Quality circle committees‟ member on the basis of various parameters, proofs evaluated the Bests.

Engineering Sciences department had organized Poster Competition on the occasion of
Engineers Day, 15th
September 2014. Topic of poster competition was “Basic Areas of Civil
Engineering”. Students had come up with different innovative ideas related with different areas in
civil engineering.

As per the University of Pune syllabus in Basic Civil and Environmental
Engineering, subject our F.E. Department had arranged a Industrial Visit for students at “Reddy
Construction, Near Sasoon hospital, Pune Station”. At this construction site which is a
Commercial Complex students got the knowledge of type of foundation used at the site, planning,
scheduling and execution of various construction activities. During this the various operations such
as procuring of materials, handling and storing them takes place.

As per the University of Pune syllabus in Basic Civil and Environmental Engineering,
Subject our F.E. Department had arranged a Industrial Visit for students at Bhira Hydro Trail
Power Station, Rawalje, Raigad .Here student got the knowledge of Hydro power plant & How
the power is generated at Hydro power plant with various operations in plants. Also students got the
information about the various types of turbines such as Francis turbine, Kaplan Turbine and various
mechanical components such as shaft, bearing and their uses.Students understood the importance of
maintaining the head of water, opening and closing the gates and the flow of water in the process of
power generation with the help of mechanical and electrical component.

The purpose of industrial visit is exposure and learning new concepts in the
industry. Accordingly few staff members visited the industries related to their subjects.
Ms. Khan and Mrs. Mawale visited the construction site at Hadapsar. They
discussed the design parameters with the architect there. Then observed the preparation of
concrete and studied settling of cement.
Dr. Patil visited three different industries in the view of industrial exposure and to
seek collaboration.
At Mawal, during his visit to the Agrosecrets, he discussed the
fermentation process with Director Dr. P.S. Mendki, for the production of ethanol. After the
discussion he visited the plant. There he observed preparation and packing of biopesticide. The
research laboratory there was well equipped. It is a D.S.I.R. recognized research laboratory. Dr.
Mendki is having research centre approved by the North Maharashtra University. During
discussion Dr. Patil has put a proposal for technical consultancy with the company.
At Nasik, Dr. Patil visited Biotricks a biotechnology company. There
he discussed the research ideas in the field of water purification. Dr. Talegaonkar proclaimed
about salinity of soil and expected a solution. Accordingly Dr. Patil proposed conceptual
research collaboration with Biotricks.

was organised. He is Associate Professor of English, Coordinator, Internal
Quality Assurance Cell at Dhanwate National College, (Institutional
Member of Asia-Pacific Quality Network, Shanghai, China) Rastrashant
Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur, Maharashtra State, India. He
teaches Romantic Poetry, Victorian Fiction, Modern Poetry, Modern
Fiction at undergraduate and post graduate levels; Research Methodology
to M. Phil students and guides research students. All HOD‟s and staff
members were present for program.
Under ISTE student‟s chapter for FE, Technical Essay Competition for First Year
Engineering students was organized on 17th
Feb 2015. Topic for technical essay competition was
“My ideas towards better water management”. Thirteen number of students from different divisions
participated in the competition. Essay competition was judged by Prof. K.R. Darvekar and Prof.
A.B. Prayag.
Mr. Ayush Kamal from Electronics division won first prize. Shubham Mittal and
Mayur Urane won second and third prize in the essay competition. Technical Essay Competition
was organized by Prof. G.N. Mawale.

Under ISTE student‟s chapter for FE, Technical Drawing Competition for First
Year Engineering students was organized on 17th
Feb 2015. Topic for technical Drawing
competition was “Smart cities from my specs”. Ten number of students from different divisions
participated in the competition. Technical Drawing competition was judged by Prof. D.S. Mankar.
Mr. Shubham Mittal from I division won first and Pranali Bagal won second prize in

To contribute towards our social
commitments partially, First Year
Engineering department has organized a
social event of cloth donation. The cloth
donation was organized on 16/3/2015. First
Year Engineering students and staff had
contributed for the noble cause. The collected
clothes were spared for needy persons from
the Mulashi area by the NGO “Shivaji Trail”.
The activity was coordinated by Prof. G.N.

Lecture on Friday 27th
March 2015. Prof. D.W. Gawatre from Sinhgad Academy of Engineering
had delivered a lecture on the topic „Positive thinking and time management‟. Thirty four students

Environmental Group
To contribute towards our social and moral commitments partially, First Year
Engineering department has started the Environment Group for staff and students. Under this group
we can work together on the environmental issues. This activity will make the students aware about
environmental problems and we can encourage them to apply their technical knowledge to solve
such problems.
Fifteen students from different divisions and five staff members are active members of
this Environmental group. Under this group cleanliness drive at Karla caves was organized on 9th
Apr 2015. Also Environmental group members actively participated in cloth donation activity. The
Environmental group is initiated by Prof. G.N. Mawale.
