Birla Corp to expand cement production capacity. Company Name : Birla Corp Project Status : Planning Project Location : Chanderiya, RJ Project Cost : Rs.2730 million • Birla Corporation is planning to increase the production capacity at its cement and clinker unit at Chanderia in Rajasthan. • The project involves increasing the clinker production capacity from, 3,600 to 6,000 tpd, increasing the cement capacity from 1.2 to about 2.7 million tpa. • The project also involves increasing the captive power plant capacity from 35 to 50 MW. • The project is estimated to cost Rs.2730 million. • As of August 2010, the board has given the approval for the proposed investment programme.

Aarey Dairy to expand capacity. Company Name : Government Of Maharashtra Project Status : Planning Project Location : Maharashtra, MH • Government of Maharashtra is planning to expand Aarey Dairy. • The project involves increasing the milk processing capacity from 2.5 lakh litres / day to 10 lakh litres / day. • As of August 2010, the preliminary study has been initiated and work on the project will kick start after submitting the report to state government, • Meanwhile. The state government has sought assistance from the National Diary Development Board (NDDB) for the proposed overhaul of the dairy. Videocon Plans new unit in TN Company Name : Videocon Project Status : Planning Project Location : Manamadurai, TN Project Cost : Rs.15,000 million • Videocon Group is planning to set up a new manufacturing facility in TN. • The project involves setting up a unit at SIPCOT Industrial Estate in Manamadurai to manufacture LCD, Plasma Television sets and other home appliances. • A new company in the style of Unity Applicances has been floated for setting up the project. • The project is estimated to cost Rs.15,000 million.


• As of August 2010, the company has just signed an MoU with state government of Tamil Nadu for the project.

PEBS Pennar to expand capacity Company Name : Pebs Pennar Project Status : Implementation Project Location : Medak, AP Project Cost : Rs.1050 million • PEBS Pennar, a subsidiary of Pennar Industries and a maker of Pre Engineered Building Systems is planning to take up Phase II expansion programme. • The Phase II programme envisages increasing the capacity of pre-engineered buildings from 30,000 tpa to 50,000 tpa at its facility in Sadashivpet in Medak district of Andhra Pradesh. • Phase I of the plant having a capacity of 30,000 tpa was inaugurated in February 2010. • The expansion programme is estimated to cost Rs.1050 million. Era Infra reports progress on Highway Project in Uttarkhand. Company Name : Era Infra Project Status : Implementation Project Location : Dehradun, UT • Era Infra has reported progress on its proposed highway project at Dehradun in Uttarkhand. • The project envisages four laning of about 39 km of National Highway Section NH 58 in Uttarakhand from Haridwar to Dehradun. • The project was awarded to Era Infra in January 2010 by NHAI for development on DBFOT annuity basis. • As of August 2010, the Rs.6920 million project has achived financial closure. • The financial closure documents have been submitted to the NHAI for their final clearance • Construction work on the project is likely to commence as soon as the company gets final clearance from the NHAI

MMRDA Reports progress on eastern express freeway project. Company Name : Mumbai Metropolitan Region Developmnet Authority Project Status : Implementation Project Location : Mumbai, MH Project Cost : Rs.5310 million Completion Schedule : June 2012 • Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority is developing the eastern express freeway, a 700-mtrs stretch of four-lane expressway through eco-sensitive salt pans between S V Patel and Anik-Panjarapol of the P D'Mello Road. • The eastern express freeway is likely to provide a direct link between the Eastern Express Highway and south Mumbai. • The project is estimated to cost Rs.5310 million. • As of August 2010, work on the project is underway. • The project is expected to be completed in June 2012. PE investors from London, Hong Kong and New York are evincing interest to invest.

MMRDA plans science innovation park in Mumbai Company Name : Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority Project Status : Implementation Project Location : Mumbai, MH Project Cost : Rs.100,000 million • Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority is setting up a science innovation park project in Mumbai. • The park to be spread over 5,000 acre near Panvel will house innovation centre and incubator in the information technology and biotechnology areas. • In February 2010, the MMRDA has appointed Science & Technology Park, Pune as knowledge partner and is likely to enter into an agreement with Sophia Antipolls of France for the project. • As many as 25 companies, including the Bharati Group, Unity Infra Projects, Ackruti City, Reliance Infrastructure, the Lodha Group and Geodesic Techniques have reportedly evinced interest in the park project. • The project is estimated to cost Rs.100,000 million. • As of August 2010, the company is the process of finalizing the contracts which is to be awarded by October 2010.

Vizag Steel plans new iron-ore storage yard.

Bhilai Steel Plant plans pellet plant in Madhya Pradesh Company Name : Steel Authority Of India Project Status : Planning Project Location : Durg, MP • Bhilai Steel Plant., a unit of SAIL is planning to set up a pellet plant based on fines of Dalli-Rajhara iron ore deposit in Durg district of Madhya Pradesh. • Pelletisation plants use fines or iron ore wastes to make pellets with higher ferrous content that can be used by steel makers • As of August 2010, the in-house agency of SAIL has been asked to prepare the technical and feasibility report to set up pellet plant. • Further developments may be seen in the next quarter.
