Indoor comfort – energy saving. In low energy and passive houses, multi-storeybuildings, commercial and industrial applications.

KWL® from Helios preservesthe energy savings achieved byinsulating measures. The unitsconstantly renew the air andheat recovery leads to a furtherimprovement of the energy effi-ciency. Even more important,KWL® from Helios creates ahealthy and comfortable climatein otherwise airtight and well-insulated buildings.

Extract Air: The used air spoi-led, with humidity, toxins andsmells is extracted from kit-chen, bathroom and toilet. The innovative Helios air extractelements AE.. allow a constant

or demand oriented air flowvolume – matched to theuser’s individual needs or roomdemands. The heat of theextracted air is retained by theexchanger and transferred tothe incoming fresh external air.

The outside air is feed throughbuilt-in heat exchanger of theunit and takes up the heatenergy from the extracted airwith efficiency up to 90%. Thisprocess can be further optimi-zed energetically, if an upstreamundersoil heat exchanger (lay-ing of duct in the soil) is added.Fresh, warmed air flows

through well-designed supplyair valves or air inlets into livingand bedrooms. Overflow ele-ments ensure air circulationwithin the property. The exhaustair is released outside passingthrough a roof or wall outlet.

KWL®-“Periphery“Versatile accessories, innovativeair ducting systems and under-soil heat exchangers completethe KWL®-units perfectly

KWL®-ventilation units with enthalpy heat exchanger

Heat and humidity recoveryfor a comfortable climate.

KWL® units with combinedheat and humidity recoveryby enthalpy exchanger provi-de for a comfortable, healthyroom air climate, without ad-ditional energy consumptionand without use of anatmospheric humidifier.

Ideal room climate providesa healthy environmentIn living quarters the relativeroom humidity should lie bet-ween 30 – 60%. With too lowhumidity mucous membranesdry dust and electrostatic char-ge increase. These effects become appa-rent, in the cold season, if theoutside air has a high saturati-on level so that when warming, the relative air humidity decrea-ses inside the room. For exam-ple: With -5° outside tempera-ture and 21° inside the roomthe humidity of originally 100%drops to less than 17%.

In this range it becomes un-comfortable.

Ventilation units with enthalpyheat exchanger recover, in ad-dition to the heat, up to 65%of humidity from the extract air. This is used to warm the outsi-de air, which flows into theliving and reception rooms witha comfortable, healthy moistu-re content.

Ventilation units with enthalpyheat exchanger from Heliosachieve a total efficiency ofmore than 100%.

Operating mode of enthalpyheat exchangerThe water molecules of the ex-tracted room air condense oncontact with surfaces of the ent-halpy heat exchanger. They movethe water in a similar way toplants, through the membrane. At the membrane surface of thesupply airside the water molecu-les are absorbed by dry outsideair. A salt-crystalline layer on themembrane of the enthalpy heatexchanger guarantees the hygie-ne and efficiency with the humidi-ty transmission process. It ensu-res the water retains its molecularconfiguration to enter the supplyair flow. Extract and supply airflows are hermetically separatedfrom each other, so that an over-all transfer of organic particles orodors is excluded.

Wall installed unit KWL EC 60 with heat recovery and EC-technologyFor single rooms, with air flows up to approx. 60 m³/h

KWL EC 60 Eco Ref. No. 9950

Compact wall installed unit forsingle rooms.KWL EC 60 is the proven solutionfor comfortable indoor climateand energy saving in singlerooms. Ideal to bring existingbuildings up to modern stan-dards in the course of a renova-tion and to EnEV standard.KWL EC 60 supplies small andlarger single rooms. For a medi-um-sized flat the installation ofseveral units is recommended.

Installed in no time – ideal forrenovationKWL EC 60 is the optimal renova-tion solution, since a subsequentand time-consuming installation ofa ventilation system is no longer re-quired. The access to the outsideair is simply made by a core drillingin the outer wall in which the wallsleeve is inserted. This can be done simply during thefacade renovation. Two protectioncover plates close the openings.

The installation of the elegantlydesigned external facia which ismade from high grade-steel takesplace with the final plasteringworks. During the interior work theunit is inserted into the wall sleeveand connected electrically.Only the elegant facia is seen in-side the room. Therefore the KWLEC 60 blends in everywhere beau-tifully and the facia shields the viewof the fan interior completely. Alu-minium plate heat exchanger withefficiency of more than 70%.
