Using nontraditional methods of communication, such as texting and email, students and teachers stay connected continuously. Three Program Options Virtual Learning Program Courses Virtual Learning Program courses serve both middle and high school SISD students seeking high school credit. Students complete coursework online during the day as part of their regular schedule or at night with a Certified Virtual Facilitator that provides support and instruction. TxVSN Courses TxVSN courses are available to both middle and high school students across the state seeking high school credit. Students complete coursework online at home with a Virtual Facilitator from another district or educational entity. Achieving Success Alternative Program (ASAP) The Achieving Success Alternative Program (ASAP) is designed to help SISD students obtain their high school diplomas. Students receive all instruction and support from certified Spring ISD teachers in a blended learning environment that includes both online and face- to-face instruction. What is TxVSN?The Texas Virtual School Network (TxVSN) was established by the Texas Legislature in 2007 to provide Texas students with equitable access to quality, online courses. The Spring ISD Virtual Learning Program serves as a receiver district and provides support to Spring ISD students who take courses through the network.

What Courses are Available?The TxVSN statewide course catalog provides access to review available high school courses for students in grades 8-12. Students will find listings for high school, Advanced Placement and dual credit courses. To view courses available and learn more about the TxVSN statewide course catalog, visit www.txvsn.org.

How Do I Register?To register for a TxVSN course, please contact the Virtual School at 281-891-6223.

Who can Benefit from Taking Virtual Learning Program Courses?Students who…n are enrolled in one of our traditional high schools.n want to accelerate their academic program.n want to take a course or courses not offered at their home school.n have scheduling conflicts. n want a different learning environment.n want to learn innovative technology skills.n are independent learners.n are close to graduation and want to make up one or two courses.n want the flexibility to learn at home, school or both - anywhere, anytime.n have access to a computer and the internet.

How do I enroll in the Virtual Learning Program?Step 1:

Talk with your campus counselor.

Step 2:Visit the Virtual Learning Program website at:http://virtual.springisd.org.

Step 3:Go to Admissions and click Register.

Who is Eligible for Spring ISD’S Achieving Success Alternative Program?You are eligible for ASAP if you are:n A Spring ISD student;n Age 17-26 (must be 26 prior to September 1); if 17 years old, you must have

a parent permission form on file;n A dropout, at risk of dropping out, or behind

in credits and may not graduate from high school within the established 4 years;

n Needing fewer than 10 credits to satisfy graduation requirements;

n Physically able to attend the program Monday - Thursday.

What Do I Need to Know? When:- Monday through Thursday. - Morning, afternoon and evening sessions.

How:- Transportation will be provided from Carl

Wunsche Sr. High School, Spring High School, and Westfield High School to Dekaney High School Monday through Thursday.

Meals:- Meals will be provided at no cost to the

student.

How Do I Enroll? Contact the Student Success Specialist at the Spring ISD School to which you are zoned.
