    For general inormation go to:

    www.bristolpound.org

    Logging into your online Bristol Pound AccountYour account activation email contains your Bristol Pound username

    and a temporary password needed to login to your account or the

    rst time.

    Click on the link in the email which will take you to the Bristol

    Pound online banking site:

    https://bristolpound.community-currency.org. Enter your username and the temporary password in the boxes

    and click submit.

    Enter and conrm a password o your choice or uture logins

    (you can change your password at any time rom your prole

    page in your account).

    Ater setting your password you will be taken to your account

    inormation page which shows your account balance and lists

    your transactions.

    From this page you can:

    Set a security PIN via the My Prole button (you must set up a

    security PIN beore you can send TXT2PAY sms text payments)

    Make an online payment to another Bristol Pound member usingthe Pay button.

    Convert money rom Bristol Pounds into sterling in your BCU

    Membership Share account using the Currency Exchange button

    (transers rom B to GBP are subject to a 3% ee). I you want

    payments to be made to an external bank account then you need

    to register a nominated bank account with BCU, and let BCU know

    how much to transer once the unds are in your Membership

    Go to My Prole to change your PIN and Password and other

    details.

    Search your transactions by name and/or dates.

    Pay OnlineMaking an online payment to any other Bristol Pound member is

    very simple.

    Login to your Bristol Pound account at:

    https://bristolpound.community-currency.org and click on thePay button.

    Enter the name and Bristol Pound username o the member you

    wish to pay, the amount, and a description o what the payment

    is or and then submit the orm.

    The payment will be made immediately and the transaction will

    show on your account page. Please note that the recipient will

    pay a 1% ee on the payment received, with maximum ee payable95p. Initial maximum value o online payments is B500 per day.

    Using TXT2PAY

    Making a payment

    Beore you set out to buy goods you need to have set a security

    PIN via the My Prole button on your Bristol Pound account page.

    Businesses accepting Bristol Pounds will display a Bristol Pound

    sticker in their window or a prominent place. Select your goods, go

    to the till as usual and ask to pay by text, showing your membership

    card. Then ollow the simple three step procedure below.

    Individuals can also pay other Individual Members by text using

    these instructions (however, please see security note below*).Please note that the recipient will pay a 2% ee on the payment

    received.

    Three steps to pay:

    Step 1Create a new text message containing the ollowing

    inormation with a space between each (text is not case sensitive):

    1. Pay (your instruction to make a payment)

    2. Your security PIN, e.g. 1234

    3. The username o the business you wish to pay, e.g. BristolBooks.

    (you will see this displayed on the till or near it)

    4. The amount (including pence with a stop between the pounds

    and pence) e.g. 5.95 or 29.68

    Your text should look something like this:

    Pay 1234 BristolBooks 5.95

    Step 2 Send the text to the Bristol Pound Payment Number:

    07938 884 882 (save this number to your phone or easy access

    each time you want to pay).

    Step 3Both buyer and seller will receive texts (usually within 5-10

    seconds) to conrm that the payment has been made successully.

    Example o the confrmation text you will receive

    Bristol Pound: You have made a payment o _B 5.95 to member

    Bristol Books (BristolBooks) Transaction ID: BTL0000001. Your new

    account balance is _B xx.xx

    The initial maximum value o TXT2PAY payments is B100 per day.

    SECURITY: We strongly recommend you delete all previous

    payment texts and ensure you keep your phone keypad lockedwhen not in use.

    Loss or thet

    1. I your mobile phone or sim card is lost or stolen, you havean obligation to block your account with your mobile phone

    network provider and inorm Bristol Credit Union by email

    or via the helpline given overlea. You must also block urther

    TXT2PAY payments by logging in to your online account and

    altering your mobile phone number (e.g. replace the frst two

    digits with 9s) on your My Profle page.

    * Payments by text are designed or ace to ace transactions where the recipient,

    not only receives a conrmation text, but can also ask to see a membershipcard beore handing over goods. I you wish to make remote transactions, werecommend that this be done by online transer.

    2. I your membership card is lost or stolen, you have an

    obligation to inorm Bristol Credit Union by email or via the

    helpline given overlea.

    3. As a member you undertake to keep all passwords and otherinormation relating to the Bristol Pound private to yoursel.

    We need to warn you that i you do not block your phone account

    and report any loss or thet to the scheme via the helpline number,

    or i you reveal your pin number or are careless or negligent in the

    storage o such inormation, you shall have no recourse to either the

    Scheme or BCU in respect o any losses you may suer as a result.

    Text and online payment problems

    All payment errors related to sms TXT2PAY or online payments will

    be dealt with by Bristol Credit Union which operates a telephone

    helpline: 0117 924 7309 (open rom 8.30am to 4.30 pm Mondayto Friday).

    I the PIN or other inormation is entered incorrectly in a TXT2PAY

    payment, or i there is insucient unds to make the payment in

    the payers account, the payment will not be made. When a text

    payment ails the payer will receive an associated notication by sms

    text saying why the payment has ailed.

    Paying sterling into your Bristol Pound Account

    To pay into your Bristol Pound account

    Use internet or telephone banking to pay into the Bristol Credit

    Union account given in your welcome email. Quote a reerence

    o your Bristol Credit Union membership number ollowed byBP. Regular payments can also be set up with your bank in the

    usual way.

    Or

    Send a cheque made payable to Bristol Credit Union, quoting your

    membership number ollowed by BP on the reverse, or deposit in

    person at BCU oce. Allow 10 days or cheques to clear and the

    money to arrive in your Bristol Pound account.

    Exchanging digital Bristol Pounds into sterlingYou can exchange digital Bristol Pounds into your sterling Bri stol

    Credit Union share account. Remember, transers back into

    sterling are subject to a 3% ee (exemptions may apply see thewebsite or details).

    Login to your Bristol Pound account at:

    https://bristolpound.community-currency.org and click on the

    Currency Exchange button.

    Enter the amount o Bristol Pounds you wish to exchange and

    click submit.

    The sterling will be in your Bristol Credit Union share account the

    ollowing business working day.

    Bristol Pound CIC Ltd ServicesBristol Pound CIC Ltd manages all aspects o the printed currency

    and marketing o the Bristol Pound to Individual and Tradermembers, and to the wider public.

    Using the Bristol Pound DirectoryOn the Bristol Pound website www.bristolpound.orgyou will nd

    the Bristol Pound Directory detailing all the businesses accepting

    the Bristol Pound and any special promotions that they are oering.

    The businesses are also fagged on a map o the City so you can see

    which are in your area.

    The directory is mobile compatible. So i you have a smart phone or

    tablet, nding Bristol Pound businesses is easy on the move.

    Using the Bristol Pound Printed CurrencyPrinted Bristol Pounds can be used to pay or goods and services

    with our member businesses. They can be obtained rom Access

    Points around the city, whose locations are ound on our website,

    www.bristolpound.org. You can obtain printed Bristol Pounds in

    20s, 10s, 5s and 1s in exchange or sterling cash o the same total

    ace value or by making a mobile phone payment in the normal

    way using the special Access Point user name, (not the traders

    username). The Access Point manager will advise you o this.

    You can also choose to accept printed Bristol Pounds in change

    rom any trader who oers them.

    The printed Bristol Pounds carry various security eatures against

    countereiting. Details o some o these eatures are to be ound onour website and rom our Trader Members. I you are suspicious

    about any printed currency you receive, please phone

    0117 230 5459 immediately. Traders have the right to reuse any

    printed Bristol Pounds that they suspect to be countereit.

    It is important to note that printed Bristol Pounds cannot be

    exchanged back to sterling by individuals nor can they be credited

    to your digital Bristol Pound account. They are to be spent with

    Trader Members.
