Friday the 13th I learnt the following: - there is one man often trying to seek revenge, so his way of getting revenge is to kill people - This is often set in isolated areas, where there is little help - weak and vulnerable females often die first, reinforcing the negative stereotype females have - realistic blood and dirty costumes are used to make the film more gory and scary
Teenagers having fun crates juxtaposition to the voiceover which creates tension

Quarantine I have learnt the following: - there is a disease or virus threatening the human race - bloody make up and ripped clothes are used to make the film more realistic - the character affected mostly starts with a female - they don't have advanced weapons to defend themselves, making scenes more tense
Woman who has been affected by the infection is pale – signifies she is ill and clothes are covered in blood
Damsel in destress character reinforces stereotype of woman being vulnerable
Green lighting and medicine bottles signify illness and suffering
Victims are weak by the fact they don’t have any weapons to defend themselves with
Halloween i learnt the following: - victim is often female, as they are represented as the weaker sex - killer is normally masked to hid his identity - enigmas are created as to why the female is being targeted
- fake blood and gore is used a lot to make the film more disgusting
Woman is isolated and is an easy target – reinforces how woman is always killed first

The hills have eyes I learnt the following: - it fits the convention of being in a isolated area, where there aren’t any humans around - Killers are masked and not all human - the male characters are often heroes in this film as they help the female characters – positive stereotype - characters intension was for a holiday, similar to Friday the 13th
High angle shot represents human characters to be weak
Deserted located makes the scene more tense
Daily activities are interrupted by horror, which makes the film even more disturbing
Paranormal Entity I have learnt the following:- Films like these are often shot on handheld cameras to signify it is a family documenting their experience - Horror scenes only occur at night time- The female dies, and the man normally survives- Narrative enigma as to who is responsible
