The anguish over the delay of announcement of financial assistance to the retirees for over six years is overcome by the joy of the large hearted gesture of IOC for much needed assistance. Hopefully the announcement of the modalities for implementation of the same will bring more cheers to the retirees.

In majority of cases IOCIANs in this age bracket i.e. 70 years and above were financially insecure, this announcement will mitigate their sufferings / worries due to non-existence of support system other than IOC. In fact this age group retirees urgently needed maintenance of their 'self' due to their advancing age and more so importantly due to changing family values and ever galloping inflation. The frail body structure, the trembling hands, the shaking legs, setting of Dementia, engulfed by number of deceases has resulted in very complicated and difficult life. Looking after themselves would not only enhance their confidence but will also earn respect in the eyes of the family members as well. The second wind fall out of this much awaited announcement is that they will be able to look after themselves physically, the repair of their old property purchased out of IOC's 'Housing Loan Scheme', maintenance of their transport which have become nightmare for most of us.

However, there is no end to expectations non-the-less it is pertinent to mention that those retirees who were anxiously awaiting this announcement and are no more have greatly suffered.

No matter what formula or philosophy resulted in formulation of this scheme the deceased retirees spouses (widows) have been suffering in the same way as other retirees who have been benefitted by this announcement. It is therefore humane consideration.

No matter how carefully this scheme is formulated, yet there is also some space for improvement. IROWA is awaiting 'modelaties' to be studied carefully and if there are any anomalies it will be taken care off with IOC management.

Director (HR) Mr Mahapatra has very kindly announced (during a courtesy meeting with the Executive Committee of Mumbai Unit) that 'he will be calling Apex Body meeting shortly'.

God bless those who matter.

Der Se Aaey, Durust AaeyHow true it is?

WE TURNED THE CLOCK BACK!

This year has indeed been very eventful for us. We celebrated 15 years of glorious functioning of our chapter

record number of new members added to the Association and also our Unit. We are happy our Navi Mumbai colleagues have started their new unit taking an encouragement from our Unit.

With monsoon round the corner we were planning our stmonsoon picnic. It fructified on 1 August 2018. We had

highest number of 65 participants this year. Making a little deviation this year we arranged separate Bus from Thane to our picnic spot near Ambarnath. This was to facilitate members and their families from Thane, Kalwaand Mulund to save them the hassles of train journey to/for and Dombivli.

Our destination was 'N Joy' Resort. It is near Ambarnath and at about 12 kms from Kalyan. It is a countryside area. It is decorated with natural greenery, particularly during this season. Eye soothing sight and unpolluted fresh weather had pleasant effect on everybody. Time management being perfect both the buses reached together at around 10. 30am. We were greeted with breakfast and tea in the big dinning hall. The resort has small science exhibition hubs. With keen interest they called us in groups to show and explain the items in the exhibition. They showed us Antigravity experiment where the Ball set on the sloppy channel actually roles upward instead of rolling downwards. The same was experienced with water. In other places they showed how a person disappears before your eyes. Many of our colleagues participated and made vanishing Act. They showed the effect of kinetic energy with number of pendulums attached to the string. Such experience was something just unusual for any picnic.

They have sports facilities like Swings, rotating wheels etc. a special spot for photographs. But the real turning point was small swimming pool with fountains and music. By this time picnic fever had caught up with everybody. So the

CLOCK was turned Back! The unseen time machine took us back at least 25/30 years. The child and the youth inside everyone were rekindled. 'Young boys' entered the swimming pool for dance and games. The onlookers encouraged them. In another hall ladies assembled breaking up all shackles. The songs and dance performances reached the peak. We have lot of music talent. That came out enthusiastically. The Resort had music system with prerecorded music tracks of famous songs. Mr. Tamhankar did full justice to it.

The organizers had to drag the people out to bring them to the dinning hall. The appetizing lunch was in waiting.

The lunch was over by around 3.00 pm. Then we assembled in Assembly Hall. A small formal but informal function was conducted. Mr. Karandikar was requested to preside over the meeting. As per the Unit's practice Mr. Gadgil was felicitated for completion of 80 years. Mr. Ingle was felicitated for completion of 70 years. The best wishes of health and happiness for their future life were showered on them.

Mr. Kaskhedikar, Mr. Nerekar, Mr. Ingle, Mr. Gondhalekar entertained the gathering with their presentations. Mrs. Lele, Mrs. Ramade, Mrs. Mastud, Mrs. Shewade, Mr. Toraskar gave singing performance. Mr. Khedlekar conducted very entertaining and absorbing game on English Words formation.

Mr. Ambardekar brought his birthday cake. All members shared and enjoyed it.

Time Machine played its trick again. It reminded us the Time for return journey was nearing. Tea and biscuits were served.

The management and staff of the 'N Joy Resort' were given big thanks for the services they gave with smile!

Mr. Khedlekar, Mr. Shelke, Mr. Shewde, Mr. Naware, Mr. Ukidwe and Mrs. Ramade had taken lot of initiative and efforts to make the picnic big success. These organizers were profusely complimented.

With lots of memories and photographs we started our return journey at scheduled time 5.00 pm.

New year picnic on 5th Jan,2018 to Garden Asia Resort on Mysuru Road was attended by 42 participants and domestic tour to Puducherry by 32 participants in Jan/Feb for 4days were highlights.

Members of Karnataka Chapter have donated Rs.35000/- to IROBF this year.

A Domestic tour of Chitrakoot and Foreign tour to Cambodia/Vietnam has been planned for 2018/19.

As the above news of our Chapter should serve as inspiration and encouragement to other chapters/units for the same.

Further it is noted in the IROWANEWS JULY ISSUE is an appeal from Shri S.C.Tandon for contribution to IROBF. Needless to say the generosity shown by Karnataka Chapter by contributing Rs.35000/- as mentioned above will certainly serve as an encouragement to other Chapters/Units.

Northwest ChapterMonthly Meeting of North West Chapter on 12-08-2018 was different from regular get-together. What we assumed to be a presentation and some talk turned out to be the biggest surprise - in installments.

The power point presentation kept us guessing what this teaching, football and multiple activities by one coach really

meant. The first surprise was that the prominent figure in slides was none other than Mr. Sylvester Peter followed by his personal appearance in our meeting hall.

● This down to earth man has transformed the lives of 140 street children of Vikaspuri, New Delhi by starting with a big zero 30 years back when he himself was 13 years old. Son of an army officer - was without money - not even pocketmoney as there was hardly any practice of pocketmoney for children at that time. He used to ask his cook to make extra lunch and used to distribute all his food among classmates with humble background. He used to forego his own lunch.

In 1987 he gathered beggars, ragpickers, drugaddicts, street children and started teaching them under a pomegranate tree. It took him several decades of dedicated effort to form his team until few years ago.

Mr. Sylvester Peter, left his high paying MNC job to dedicate full time to his 'Angels' (He calls his students Angles). He is a motivational speaker by profession now and spends most of his earnings for running the academy. He has given speech in France, Bengaluru, Goa and many eminent institutes like FMS (Faculty of Management Science, Delhi University), Bharati college (Delhi University), IMT Ghaziabad, etc.

Today, he has extended his love to tribal children of Odisha and Tihar (Central Jail no.5) adolescent inmates.

Mr. Sylvester Peter had his Trump card with him - a street beggar 20 years back transformed into a bank officer, currently he is working as chief cashier in Indian Bank. The best part about this Angel is that he contributes half of his salary to the Academy right from his first salary.

Mr. Sylvester Peter, himself an ace footballer, has given a number of Angels to the country who have won matches and medals in large numbers. During Bengaluru tour two players from My Angles Academy got selected in Hindustan aeronautics Ltd, and recently one of his 'Angels' was selected at TATA FOOTBALL ACADEMY.

In his Academy Yoga and Meditation are mandatory for the Angels.

Mr. Sylvester Peter gives credit for his early start to his mother who helped him shape his impossible dreams into reality.

IOCean, Mr. V. K. Anand and a couple of likeminded friends provide their backing to the unstoppable Mr. Sylvester Peter.

Mr. Sylvester Peter's message to senior Citizens - Better late than never.

All through, the participants were keen to ensure that they do not miss even a single word, slide or video of My Angles Academy whose motto is - Dignity for slum children - transforming lives through love and football.

Their vision is to reform children, turning them into respectable citizens who will act as catalysts for a society which is free of vices. Please support them. Their contact details are:

NOIDA chapter organised monthly meeting on 21st July, 2018. Participants were reminded of how to save themselves from ills of this weather. It was a rainy day and the members were in a very pleasant mood. They were reminded of safety from Dengue, Chickengunia fever by removing water from coolers and open fresh water storages. To wear full sleeves after sunset and use mosquito nets if necessary. Malaria is also a hazard of this season and one must take all precautions. In the old age one must remain careful against slipping and hurting on the wet floors.

The meeting followed with the celebration of 79th birthday of Shri RK Singh by cutting a cake by him and his wife. The members sang songs wishing him long and healthy life followed by contributory dinner.

Shri VK Dhingra organised and compered the celebrations.

King of the JungleOnce a cow went out to graze in the jungle. Suddenly, she noticed a tiger racing towards her. She turned and fled, fearing that any moment the tiger would sink his claws into her.

The cow desperately looked for someplace to escape. She saw a shallow pond. Barely evading the tiger's reach, she jumped into the pond. In the heat of the chase, the tiger blindly leaped after her.

To the surprise of them both, the shallow was filled with deep recesses of mud. After toppling over each other, the cow and the tiger found themselves a short distance apart, stuck in the mud up to their necks. Both had their heads above water but were unable to free themselves no matter how much they writhed.

The tiger repeatedly snarled at the cow and roared, “I am going to enjoy the sound of your crunching bones between my teeth!”

He thrashed about in fury but soon became fretful as he found no prospect of escape.

The cow thoughtfully laughed as the tiger struggled to free himself and asked him, “Do you have a master?”

The tiger disdainfully replied, “I am the king of the jungle. Why do you ask me if I have a master? I myself am the master!”

The cow said, “You may be the king of the jungle, but here all your power has failed to save your life.”

“And what about you?” Retorted the tiger. “You are going to die here in this mud”'

The cow smiled mildly and said, “No, way.”

“Even the king of the jungle cannot free himself from this mud”, snapped the tiger, “Then how can you, an ordinary cow can think of escape from this death trap?”

The cow gently replied, “I cannot free myself from this mud, but my master can. When the sun sets and he finds me absent, he will come looking for me. Once he finds me, he will raise me up and escort me home - sweet home.”

The tiger fell silent and coldly glared at the cow.

Soon after sunset the cow's master arrived. He immediately recognized the plight she was in and lifted her to safety. As they walked home, the cow and the master both felt renewed gratitude for each other and pitied the tiger. They both would have been happy to save only if the tiger had thought of not eating them up.

The cow represents a surrendered heart, the tiger represents an egoistic mind, and the master represents the Guru, the mud represents the world, and the chase represents the struggle for existence therein.

Oh. Is it so.The senior author. Becca R. Levy, a professor of Epidemiology at Yale University- answered the long pending issue whether reading increase the life-span. Yes it is so. Scientists divided the sample into three groups.

(1) Those who wish to read but don't.

(2) Those who set to read but focus on other issues.

(3) Those who make it a point at least to read daily as regular and routine and update and upgrade their information base

The researchers controlled all the factors like age/race/health/wealth/depression/marital status/ pensioners.

The first group mentioned above is similar to weaker section.

The second type is seeker section.

The third group is in positivity and popular section. And people who read newspapers/magazines/periodicals have a significant survival advantage over those above.

So, please keep reading and love to live longer.

A poor old man lived in a forest and eked out his living by making charcoal from scraps of wood and selling it. One time, as a reward for rescuing a king who had lost his way in the forest, the poor man was given a beautiful grove full of most fragrant type of sandalwood trees. These trees were of a special quality from which expensive and rare perfume was made. One of these trees, in its natural state and without any each one effort on the part of the old man, was alone was worth more than the poor man could have earned during the rest of his life by producing and selling wood as charcoal.

Of course, the poor old man was very happy over this gift, but did not realize what a great fortune was bestowed on him. So, in order to make a living, he resorted to making charcoal out of sandalwood trees and selling it in the market for a pittance.

After a long time the king happened to pass that way again and noticed that the most valuable grove had been reduced to ashes, also that the old man was in the same poor condition as before. When the king enquired as to what had happened, the old man related that he had been earning his living by making charcoal from the trees. The king then asked him if he had any sandalwood left. The old man replied that he had nothing except a small piece, perhaps, one or two feet long. The king told him to go to the same bazaar where he had been selling the charcoal and sell this piece of wood without first turning it into charcoal. There were some wealthy people in the bazaar who noticed the excellent quality and rare fragrance of this piece of sandalwood. Recognizing its value, they all wanted to buy it. The result was that the old man earned hundreds of rupees out of that small one piece of sandalwood.

He returned to the king with the money, and the king said: ̀ `You have not appreciated the value of this wood. Had you appreciated it, you could have earned millions instead of paltry sum you did by selling it as charcoal and that too after going through the unnecessary labour of first making charcoal out of it.'' On realizing his mistake, the old man asked the king for another such gift that he might make proper use of it. The king replied that such gift is bestowed only once in a lifetime.

In the same way, the true value of the human body is realized at the time of death, when man regrets that he has squandered his most precious possession. The result is that away he has to go to hell or lower births. Similarly, the Bible says that we are selling our birthright for a mess of pottage.

Our body may be likened to a precious sandalwood forest, which we can exchange for millions of rupees (spiritual values) but we, in our ignorance, reduce it to charcoal in the fires of the five passion.

THINK ONCE AGAIN &OPT FOR ORGAN / BODY

Value of Human Life DONATION ;

(It's the highest form of Service to the mankind as written in our scriptures)

REALISE IT'S MORE THAN SANDALWOOD; Can give life to many more.

Reading in the advanced age tied to a longer life.

Back in the days when Germany was divided, a huge wall separated East and West Berlin.

One day, some people in East Berlin took a truck load of garbage and dumped it on the West Berlin side.

The people of West Berlin could have done the same thing, but they didn't. Instead they took a truck load of canned goods, bread, milk and other provisions, and neatly stacked it on the East Berlin side.

On top of this stack they placed the sign: *“EACH GIVES WHAT HE HAS"* How very true! You can only give what you have. What do you have inside of you? Is it hate or love? Violence or peace? Death or life?Capacity to build or capacity to destroy? What have you acquired over the years. *"EACH GIVES WHAT HE HAS"* Think about it!

Till yesterday it was a mirror, every one used to look at it. Today it has broken everyone avoids going near it. With time our Outlook changes.

Each One GivesWhat He Has

At 2 o'clock in the night, a wealthy man was not able to sleep.

He tried roaming around in the house, sitting and waiting for sleep to come naturally, trying to divert his attention from sleeplessness etc. but nothing seemed to work.

Seeing no chances of getting sound sleep he stopped trying further and got into his car for a round of his neighbourhood.

On seeing a temple he decided to spend some time with God. He thought if I pray, may be, peace will sooth my mind and give some relief from restlessness.

He went inside the temple and saw another man already sitting in front of the idol of God. His sad face and swollen eyes were showing his state of mind.

The rich man asked, Brother, what are you doing in the temple past midnight.

The man said, My wife is in the hospital. If she is not operated in the morning, she will die. I do not have money for the operation.

Upon hearing about her, the rich man gave the person money he had in his pocket to that person. This brought glow in poor man's face. He also gave his card and said that there is a phone number and address in it, and if necessary he may ask for more.

The poor man gave the card back and said I have His address. This address is not needed Sir.

Seeing surprise on rich man's face that poor man said - address of the one who sent you here at this ghostly hour.

Whenever you go out of the house request your Lord who is sitting in the house to join you.

*And*

When you come back home again meet him and thank Him for taking care of everything while you were out.

You may have an expensive watch on your wrist but time is in the hands of the Lord.

Power of Faith

Be Your Own Lamp!In a village blind husbands and wives lived. Here a beautiful son was born who was not blind.

The housewife prepared bread which the cat ate in the kitchen without her knowledge as she was blind. The cat made it a daily routine because of which the family had to starve for several days.

One day it was known in some way that the cat ate the rats. This gave a clue to the family. When the wife made bread husband stood near the gate with a bamboo shoot and hit the ground with it to scare the cat away. This stopped cats coming. The couple did this every day.

When the boy grew up and got married he continued the family tradition of making sound by hitting the ground with the bamboo shoot.

When daughter-in-law was making roti for the first time, her husband sat down with a bamboo shoot and started hitting the ground.

After several days, she asked him the reason of his strange action.

The husband responded – that was the tradition of the house, so I am doing this.

We are in the same dilemma.

The parents were blind, who could not see the cat, because of their compulsion, they used to frighten the cat away. But the son was not blind but suffered from blindness of the mind and continued what his blind parents did.

Such a condition is existing in our own society.

Earlier, there was lack of education, so the people of the rabble (a large, noisy, uncontrolled group of people) who were benefitting themselves, adopted hypocritical values. (behaving in a way that suggests one has higher standards or more noble beliefs than is the case) and spread these. There is no such logic behind them.

But today, after being educated the people of our society are living their life after being subdued by those hypocritical traditions.

Such societies and individuals are said to be blind in the eye.

Therefore, think of any tradition first, know it and if it seems right, then only follow it. Then will there be change in society, and it will be ......

Unique GiftMohan Kaka was postman by profession. For years, he used to distribute letters in villages. One day he got a letter for delivery in one of the villages served by him. He did not remember having delivered any letter to that address earlier.Like any other day, he picked up his bag and left for distributing letters. After distributing all the letters, he started moving towards the new address. He called out, "Postman!" as call bells are not common in villages. The voice of a girl came from inside, "Kaka, please slip the letter from under the door.""I don't know what type of girl is she. When I can bring a letter from such a distance can't she open the door and take it. What does she think herself to be", Kaka thought to himself."I have a registered letter for you. You will have to sign. Please come out", Kaka said out of frustration."Coming.", A very soft voice came from inside. After 2 minutes, his patience began to give way.Kaka started thumping the door saying “I have to hurry and have lot of work in hand”.After some time the door opened. What Kaka saw in front of him was absolutely shocking.

There was a family sitting in front of me. Mom, Dad, Son and Daughter Our table was near their table.

We were casually talking among ourselves. Suddenly, their discussion about selection of menu caught my attention.

Their Dad was going to order after ascertaining all choices.

Daughter said burger and Mommy said dosa. Dad himself was in the mood to eat biryani. But the son was not able to decide. Sometimes burger and the next moment he would change to cheese roll.

Dad wanted him to decide and stick to his decision. Dad made it clear “If you go for the cheese roll, then you will not ask your sister to share her burger. Quickly finalize what you are going to eat.”

Our dinner order had arrived. But the family next to me was still confused.

Son said that he cannot decide what to eat.

The mother was saying that you order one item for yourself and eat a little bit from all. But the son remaned in dilemma.

Dad was explaining what is it to think so much? Find one thing. Whatever is in your mind, take it.

But the boy was not really able to decide. He repeatedly looked at the burger on the board, then turned towards the cheese roll.

I was wondering why his father did not say that it is okay, take a burger and also a cheese roll.

The discussion was going on among them.

Dad was convincing the son that only one thing would come.

* Finally, the son also said burger. *

Our food was complete when their lunch was going on. When I got up from the chair suddenly my eyes met the boy's father's.

I said Hello, introduced myself and requested him for permission to ask a question which had been bothering me.

He smiled, "Ask."

"Your son was not able to decide what he should eat, he was confused between the burger and cheese roll. I looked for a long time that you neither got angry with him nor did you hurry. Also, you did not suggest to him to order both and anything left could be packed for taking home.

He said, "He is a child. It is time that he learns decision making. Ordering both items was not a big deal. The big deal, it must be understood, is that there is no scope for dilemma in life.

* He has to decide what is in the mind. The mind does not know what to do. But somewhere the mind will have to stop. *

If you can not learn now, then you will never learn it.

Catch Them YoungThere was a 12-year-old girl whose both legs were cut off. Kaka felt embarrassed on his impatience.

The girl said, "I'm sorry, I came late and kept you wait ing. Please tel l me where to sign?"Kaka took her signatures, handed over her letter and left.

After eight or ten days of this incident, Kaka got another letter for the same address. This time again he reached the girl's house after delivering all other letters in the village!

He politely called out "Your letter has come, there is no need to sign. Shall I slip it through the door?", Kaka said.

"No, no, wait, I will just open the door." The girl responded from inside.

After some time she opened the door.

The girl had a gift pack in her hand.

"Take my letter and take your gift, Kaka” she said.

"What is the need of it", Kaka hesitantly took the gift while speaking.

The girl said, "Just like that uncle ... you take it and open it at your home only!"

Kaka's anxiety kept on increasing as he neared his house.

As soon as he reached home, he opened the box. Seeing the gift, tears started rolling down his eyes.

There was a pair of slippers in the box. For years Kaka used to distribute letters barefoot, but till date, no one had paid attention to it.

This was the most precious gift of his life. Kaka sat down on the floor and began to cry uncontrollably. There was only one idea coming repeatedly in his mind - the girl gave him the sandals, but from where will he bring pair of legs for her?

Sensitivity is a very big human trait. It is great to feel the pain of others and to try to reduce it. Sensitivity to the feet of others who do not have their own feet gives us a very big message. Let us also be sensitive to our society, our neighbours, friends, relatives and to strangers.

Let us also become sandal of somebody's feet and spread some happiness in this world full of sorrow!

"It is also to teach that accept whatever you take and be satisfied.”

That's why I was saying repeatedly * Desire should be limited. *

"And one thing, I explained to him that * one who can not focus on one thing cannot decide. *

* And the truth is that one does not get everything. You have to take one thing and forego the other happily. "*

What is Rule 72?In personal finance, if you divide the number 72 by the rate of interest, you get to know the number of years it wi l l take for you to double the money. .Eg: if the rate of interest is 9%simply divide the number 72 by 9 and the answer is 8. Thus it will take 8 years to double your money if you invest at 9% p.a. rate of interest.

*INTEREST:*

We can use this rule in reverse to know the rate of interest needed to double your money to achieve your set goal.

Eg: If you have 250k today and you need 500k in 5 years. Just divide the number 72 by 5, the answer is 14.41%. Thus you need a type of investment avenue, where you earn at least 14.41% p.a. as rate of interest/returns to double your investment amount in 5 years.

* INFLATION:*

This 'Rule 72' helps you to understand about inflation also. It helps you to calculate the amount of time it will take for inflation to make the real value of money half. Let's say present inflation is 5.5%. When you divide 72 by 5.5 the answer is 13.09 years. That is to say, if you have 100k in your kitty today, it would take around 13.09 years for the value of the money to be halved..

Hope it helps you in your day to day investments and other finance related activites.

When banks give 6.25% interest and deduct 10% as TDS, one only gets 6.25-0.625=5.56 . Our avg. rate of inflation is 5.5 which is same as our banks' rate of interest so the money one has will double in 13 yrs and its value will become half in 13 yrs due to inflation. So no point in keeping money on interest in banks as it will not grow. If you give it at higher interest elsewhere you may loose even the principle amount.

It is important to keep in mind that TDS by bank is notional deduction as per law but actual tax liability will depend upon actual tax slab of the individual.

So best way to grow one's money is to invest it in good health, good house, good food, good education to children, good transport, good travelling and so on for self and spouse.

Being an IOCean all of us have giving best of education and life to our children coupled with disciplined and responsible upbringing to them. This has been our wisest investment decision. We can safely depend on

them for financial and emotional support in our silver years.

We should understand the ground reality and we should invest in multiple types of safe assets like cash, gold, property and charity focusing on safety even at the cost of returns.

Charity and service to humanity keeps us healthy, humble and alive to the sufferings of others. We must thank Almighty for making us givers and not takers.

The Missing Goat, Goat No. 3It all started one lazy Sunday afternoon in a small town near Toronto in Canada.

Two school-going friends had a crazy idea.

They rounded up three goats from the neighbourhood and painted the numbers 1, 2 and 4 on their sides.

That night they let the goats loose inside their school building.

The next morning, when the authorities entered the school they could smell something was wrong.

They soon saw goat droppings on the stairs and near the entrance and realized that some goats had entered the building.

A search was immediately launched and very soon, the three goats were found.

But the authorities were worried, where was goat No. 3?

They spent the rest of the day looking for goat No.3.

The school declared classes off for the students for the rest of the day.

The teachers, helpers, guards, canteen staffs, boys were all busy looking for the goat No. 3, which, of course, was never found.

Simply because it did not exist.

Those among us who in-spite of having a good life are always feeling, lack of fulfilment, are actually looking for the elusive, missing, non-existent Goat No.3.Whatever the area of complaint or dissatisfaction, relationship, job-satisfaction, finance, achievement etc., an absence of something is always larger than the presence of many other things.

Stop worrying about goat No.3 and enjoy the life... Life would be so much happier without the worries. Let non-existent imaginary goat number 3not waste your time and happiness. Enjoy life with what you have.

We may obtain medicines through a servant, but the cure is attributed to the doctor, not to the servant. Why not go a step further and attribute the cure to God's grace?

True surrender to God means a firm faith that He and none else is ours; that it is He, not we, that is the doer; and that everything He does is for our interest.

A man loves his wife and children because he considers them to be his own, if, then, we call God our

own, will we not love Him?

Further, when we hold the conviction that God is our dearest friend and benefactor and is doing everything solely in our interest, where is the cause for any worry or anxiety at all?

Just as a child lives fearlessly in the assurance that the mother is near him, similarly, we, too, should move in the world free of fear,in the trust that God is near us.
