South Preschool Class Weekly News

The children were busy working in the garden this week. This harvested their carrots. The carrots were various sizes. The children immediately began to compare the lengths of carrots. The children were excited to

take a carrot home along with a green tomato.

Our favorite book this week has been The Lemonade Hurricane. Ask your child to tell you about the story!

We received a special visit this week from Dr. Jan McCarthy, retired early childhood faculty,

who started the ECEC.

We have been learning about farm animals. The class built a farm on the science table with animals they said lived on farms. We read about horses,

goats, and chickens. Braxton even told us about cattle drives! We discovered that chickens, cows, and sheep produce items that we eat and use. We took a vote to decide what we would make from milk. Here is a picture of the math

your children are participating in during grouptime.
