From the desk of the Madam State PresidentHello Sisters (and brothers),I hope you all are doing well and surviving the cold then warm weather we are having. This month brought us travels in Zone 4 the first weekend making stops in Huntingburg, Winslow, Shoals and Seymour. Everyone was so gracious and friendly at our stops and we picked up a couple of grant checks and donations, thanks to everyone who has supported our joint project so far! The second weekend we traveled to Ft. Wayne and Decatur where we participated in the ride to honor our Heroes. I have to tell you that this is one of the most humbling and best experiences I have been a part of as an Eagle. Thank you to those soldiers and to their families for their sacrifices! I am proud to have selected a State Project

where we can honor them. And to Decatur Eagle Riders (Aerie & Auxiliary), thank you, you all did amazing! John and I have been spreading the word on membership through the new joint membership poster from Dave and Jacque. If you haven’t gotten one let us know and we will see that you do. This is a great way to work on membership in your Aeries. We also made stops at Huntington, Wabash and Alexandria where we enjoyed some good pizza and live music! They treat us really well there! We ended October with Fall Conference and it was a huge success! Thanks so much to the Niccum's, Lafayette #347 and Zone 2 for the wonderful hospitality and allowing us to raise money for Hero Reward! Even sat in on an Eagle Rider meeting and love the things they are planning throughout the state! Next month we start the holiday season! Get out there and do your shopping (or blow up Amazon like me) and enjoy time with your families! We will see you on the Eagle Trail soon! Love, State Madam President Dina Kirkwood

I presented two very deserving women with President Citations. This is a way to honor them for their selfless acts of kindness and dedication to

the Eagles and their support of my state project. Pari Ann Woolard - she has traveled on every single Eagle trail since we started

traveling around the state to raise money and support our Aeries & Auxiliaries and promote membership. The only one she

missed was because she was working in her Aerie on an event again displaying her

dedication to the Eagles. Thank you Pari, you are now my good friend and a wonderful eagle! Love you! Xoxo

Deborah Schloot - Deborah took it upon herself to contact the Wabash Valley Correctional Facility where they have a program where prisoners make quilts and donate them to

charity. We received three beautiful quilts and a painting and if that wasn’t enough she put in a

second request and we received two more quilts for my special project. Taking the time to do such special things that I know came straight

from her heart shows she is a shining example of what a true Eagle looks like. Thank you

Deborah! And for all the gifts you and Gloria Brennan have given me I am so humbled and

grateful! Love you both!! Xoxo

Auxiliary State Membership Chairman Tina Bays

Indiana ranked #5 in the country in September reporting 141 members gained for the month, comprising 73 New members and 68 Re-enrollees. We also carved off 1.1% from our negative net gain % going from -10.7% at the end of August to -9.6% at the end of September. We held at needing 30 members per week to hit our net gain by 5/31/21. Now then, 30 new members per week might seem like a lot but allow me to break it down a bit. As of the end of September, we needed 1,066 members by 5/31/21 to make our net gain. 1,066 divided by 8 months (October – May) comes out to 133.25 members per month and then if you divide that by 60 (which is the number of auxiliaries in Indiana) that comes out to 2.22 members per month per auxiliary. Now doesn’t that sound better? Yeah, I thought so.We have consistently chipped away at our net gain deficit every month since the beginning of our fiscal year which was June 1st. We are slowly ascending the membership mountain. Slow and methodical will get us to where we need to be. As always, thank you for all your hard work. – Tina Bays, Beech Grove Aux. #4167
