To that e nd , the m ission of the Ind iana Conse rvation Partne rship is to provid e te c hnic al, financ ial and e d ucational assistanc e ne e d e d to im ple m e nt e c onom ic ally and e nvironm e ntally c om patible land and wate r ste ward ship d e c isions, practic e s and te c hnologie s.In 2013, m e m be rs of the Ind iana Conse rvation Partne rship (ICP) be gan using the Environm e ntal Prote c tion Age nc y’s (EPA) Re gion 5 Nutrie nt Load Re d uction M od e l to d e te rm ine the im pact of installe d c onse rvation practic e s im ple m e nte d by the ICP Conse rvation De live ry Te am s on Ind iana's wate r quality.The ICP ad opte d the Re gion 5 Nutrie nt Load Re d uction M od e l to analyze c onse rvation practic e s fund e d by state program s suc h as the Ind iana State De partm e nt of Agric ulture 's Cle an W ate r Ind iana Program and the Ind iana De partm e nt of Natural Re sourc e s' Lake and Rive r Enhanc e m e nt Program , as we ll as fe d e rally fund e d program s inc lud ing EPA's Se c tion-319 Program and U SDA’s Farm Bill Program .The Re gion 5 Nutrie nt Load Re d uction M od e l, e stim ate s annual re d uctions of se d im e nt, as we ll as nitroge n and phosphorus tie d to se d im e nt e rosion (brown, gre e n and blue m aps, re spe c tive ly).
