ut God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us
alive together with Christ--by grace you have been saved.

His Resurrection is Your Resurrection
Do you ever take the time to consider what Jesus’
resurrection means for you?
Without the cross and resurrection of Jesus, you and
I are just people trying harder to do better at being
moral, but that isn’t Christianity.
Christianity is the message that you and I were dead in our sins. The
most admirable among us are worthy of an eternity in the flames of
hell—centered on ourselves, not giving glory to God.
But then, the perfect Son of God, sent from the Father, perfectly lived
the God-honoring righteous life that we failed to live. Then He bore
our sins upon a cross of suffering and shame to pay the penalty we
deserved. And now, by the grace of God, all who trust in Jesus Christ
are declared innocent of their sins and given the righteousness that
Jesus earned in His life. He took my sin and gave me his
righteousness, all by grace, received by faith.
If you meditate upon Romans 6:5-14, you’ll see the power of the
cross and the resurrection over the lives of those who trust in Christ.
Christians are united with Christ in His death and resurrection. Not
only are we set free from the penalty of our sin, we’re also set free
from sin’s power over us. We die to that old self and live as a new
person through His death and resurrection. Even our last enemy,
death itself, is defeated in the power of Jesus’ death and resurrection,
and we too will be resurrected to live forever with Him.
His death is yours, and His resurrection is too!
