What Caused the Earthquakes & Tsunami

The India & Burma plates slipped causing and earthquake which resulted in a major Tsunami!

The Earthquake occurred in the Indian Ocean.

How Many people died due to the Earthquake?

• The Death Toll was said to be over 220,000 people.

Over 1.7 million people went missing due to the earthquake & Tsunami.

What caused the Earthquake??

• The Earthquake was caused by the Indian Plate Slipping under the Burma Plate.

The Seismograph for the earthquake was from 9.1 to 9.5 this was the 3rd largest ever recorded.

Since the Earthquake occurred in water it made a Tsunami.

The Tsunami destroyed most of Sri Lanka and other small Countries.
