GENERAL RULES
College ID cards have to be produced for verification prior to the event at the
registration desk.
Participants have to report 30 minutes prior to the event at the venue mentioned.
All music tracks (.mp3 format) are to be brought in the form of a CD. Pen drives
are not allowed. Kindly label your discs with your lot number. Always have a
reserve/back up.
All materials submitted as works by participants during IMU FEST’13 becomes
sole property of IMU.
Event timings and venues may be subject to change without prior notice; any
changes in rules will be communicated to the participants.
Judges decision is final and binding, even in case if tie
Outstation participants are required to send in a request by mail for
accommodation at least two weeks prior to the fest.
Participants are requested to take full responsibility of their belongings like
laptops, cameras, bags etc.
Participants are requested to steer clear of exhibiting religious sentiments, any
form of vulgarity and conduct themselves in dignity and decorum.
EVENT RULES
QUICK BUZZ- QUIZ
Number of participants : 2 teams per college
2 participants per team
When we say quiz, We mean BUSINESS. Put on your thinking caps and get ready to
rack up your brains real hard.
This is going to be one hell of a ride! Brace yourselves!
Prelims will be conducted and 6 teams will progress to the finals.
Rules for each round will be explained on the spot by the quiz master.
CORPORATE FIESTA- CORPORATE WALK
Number of participants: 1 team per college (Maximum 8 participants in a team)
Duration : 10 minutes (including stage set up& props) per team
Show your sense of Fashion in a corporate way.
Should represent professionals of various levels of management and their
concept, music & style should represent their attire.
Music should be submitted in CD’s in mp3 format at least an hour before the
competition.
GET A GRIP- ADZAP
Number of participants : 1 team per college
5 participants per team
Duration : 2 minutes (Preparation)
6 minutes (On stage)
2 minutes (Rebuttal)
We’ll tell you the product, sell it. Showcase the world of commercialism LIVE!
Show us how good a sales team you’ll make!
Products will be given on the spot.
No props allowed.
LA PERSONA- BEST MANAGER
Number of participants : 1 participant per college
One participant per college.
Prelims will be conducted.
Participant should submit their resume at the time of registration.
Participant cannot participate in any other event on the same day.
FIRE FLIES- J.A.M
Number of participants: 1 team per college
2 participants per team
Duration : 1 minute (preparation)
1 minute (On stage)
You’re the kind of person, who always likes to know about both sides of the
coin? Are you someone who flip-flops at the slightest provocation? This event is
tailor-made for you.
A participant will be asked to speak both for and against the topic.
Spontaneity is quintessential in this event.
The topic will be given by the judge during the event.
ANGELS ‘N’ DEMONS- DEBATE
Number of participants : 1 team per college
2 participants per team
Duration : 15 minutes (Preparation)
6 minutes [3+3] (On stage)
2 minutes (Rebuttal)
Flaunt your Oratory skills with a coherent argument. Try to justify your opinion
by presenting suitable reasons and examples for it. The floor is all yours!
1 speaker for & 1 speaker against the chosen topic
The topics will be announced 30 minutes before the commencement of the event.
1 BIG RUSH- BUSINESS PLAN
Number of participants : 1 team per college
4 participants per team
Duration : 4 minutes +1 minute
Start a business suited to this 21st century.
The business plan should be presented in ppt.
It should state the source of capital, break-even point, etc.
Abstract to be mailed 2 weeks prior the event.
Selected participants will be intimated through email.
BATTLE GROUNDZ- GROUP DANCE
Min of 4 and max of 12 members per team.
Tracks should be brought in AUDIO CDs/FLASH DRIVES (mp3 format).
Team leaders must pick out slots at a time specified by the organizers to decide
the order of appearance on stage.
College ID cards of each person should be produced during registration.
Disobeying the rules will lead to disqualification of the team.
Vulgarity in any form is strictly prohibited and may warrant disqualification.
Use of water, fire or any other inflammable substance is strictly prohibited.
Props and stage settings are allowed but no additional time for set up will be
given. Note that props include objects, which are carried by participants (sticks,
swords, pots, etc). Chairs, tables, screen and backdrops, which are placed on
stage, come under stage settings.
Judges decision is final and if questioned will lead to disqualification of the
teams.
ADAPT-TUNE- SOLO DANCE
Number of participants : 2 per college
Audio track will be played and the participant should perform adapting to the
tune.
Any form of vulgarity on stage will not be entertained.
Usage of props is allowed (hazardous and heavy props should be avoided.
Judge's decision is final.
RHYTHMS- LIGHT MUSIC
The candidates who register can either opt for a band performance or a solo
performance or a duet performance.
No candidate is allowed to make more than one performance representing their
college
Songs should be in Indian languages. Minor inclusions of foreign languages in a
song allowed.
Maximum Duration: 15 minutes (including set up).
Cross bands are allowed. But band members should definitely be college
students and they must carry their college ID card & Bonafide certificates.
No participant can be a part of more than one band.
A standard 5-piece drum kit will be provided. Snares alone may be brought by
the bands taking part so that there will be a backup in case of any damage is
done to the one provided by the university during the event.
Judges decision is final and if questioned will lead to disqualification of the
teams.
THE NOLAN EFFECT- SHORT FILM
ESTUARY “THE NOLAN EFFECT” gives all its participants an opportunity to
showcase their creative talent and express their thoughts and ideas through Short Films.

7. PORT & LOGISTICS ISSUES IN INDIA
II. Deadline: Entries should be received at the ESTUARY, IMU Office by 23rd March
2013, 5:00 p.m.
III. General Instructions:
1. Short film or video entry may be in any style or genre (drama, comedy, documentary,
feature, science fiction, etc.) but must creatively explore the issues associated with the
themes mentioned that impacts modern day life.
2. The film may be in English, Hindi, Tamil, or a combination of these languages.
English subtitles must be supplied if the film is in Hindi, Tamil.
3. The video/short film must be saved and submitted as avi, wmv, mpg, or mpg4
formats on DVD.
4. Video resolution must be 1080p.
5. Total running time must be from 5 to 20 minutes, including opening and closing
billboards or credits.
6. For each entry, submit 2 DVD copies marked with the title of the film and the name of
the contestant/team leader, 2 copies of the completed entry form (including prints of
contestants’ current school identification cards, and affidavit of original production) to:
ESTUARY is not responsible for late, lost, damaged, misdirected, stolen, or
misappropriated entries.
7. Entries that have been saved in the wrong video size and/or wrong file format (not
avi, wmv, mpg, or mpg4 formats on DVD) or which are submitted in unmarked DVDs
or without the required entry form, Photo copy of current school I.D. cards, and/or
affidavit of original production, will be disqualified unless the requirements are
complied with on or before the deadline for submission of entries.
GOLDEN CAMPASS -TREASURE HUNT RULES
All Teams MUST have at least 3 and not more than 5 members.
During the GOLDEN COMPASS (Treasure Hunt), teams are encouraged to stay
together and work collectively to complete each of the challenges.
Disqualification will result from any of the following:
failure to turn in completed challenges by the 1hr
Cheating—sabotaging, copying from, or stealing from other teams.
No using of mobile phone
As noted above, judges will score based, first, on total number of items
completed and, second, on time to complete; additional points will be awarded
for comedy value. So have fun with this! All decisions by the judges are final.
Teams will also need a pen or pencil to write down information.
o Map will be provided and whole campus will be used for Hunt.
SET BLAZE-PAPER PRESENTATION
An entry can have a maximum of 2 authors per paper. One participant can be an author in more than one entry. Proper references and citation should be given on the last page Eight (8) minutes will be given for the presentation and Two (2) minutes
for the interactive session. There will be one bell after 6 minutes indicating only 2 minute left to
complete presentation. Submit soft copy of ppt 30 minute prior the session start or mail to
[email protected] Carry one hard copy of paper (slides). Candidate must be dressed in formals. Judges decision will be final.

Role of FDI in Maritime Sector.
Impact of Information Technology in shipping management.
Growth of Special Economic Zones (SEZ) in India.
Advent and growth of logistics market in India.
Technology in Indian Ports
Importance of Human Resource Management at Major Ports in India.
Role of privatization in Indian Ports.
Challenges in Indian Infrastructure Management
