Established in 1965, Indian Journal of Poultry Science (IJPS), a leading peer-reviewed Indian journal inthe field is published by the Indian Poultry Science Association, Izatnagar-243 122 (UP). The publicationis aimed at providing access to academicians, researchers and industry professionals from across theglobe to publish their work on all aspects of poultry science through research papers, shortcommunications and review articles in three issues in a year (April, August, and December). The IJPS is

selectively indexed and/or abstracted by major agencies of the world.

The editorial board of IJPS welcomes the submission of manuscripts within the aim and scope of the journal for publication. The articles may be submitted via regular mail in duplicate, each with a set of original figures and photographs to the chief editor, Indian Journal of Poultry Science, Central AvianResearch Institute, Izatnagar-243 122 (UP), INDIA or electronically in MS WORD format as e-mailattachments to the chief editor at [email protected]

Please refer to the Instructions for authors (Revised: November, 2008) section before submitting anarticle. Author(s) should also consult the most recent edition of IJPS (August 2008 issue onwards) forgeneral presentation of the text of the manuscript.

    General guidelines

    1. It is the responsibility of the authors to ensure that papers are submitted strictly as per the styleand format of IJPS. The articles not conforming fully to the style and format of IJPS will be returned toauthor(s) by the editorial office for amendment, prior to a review for its scientific merit.

    2. Submission of an article is understood to imply that the article is original and has not beenpublished previously, is not under consideration for publication elsewhere, and if accepted, it will not bepublished elsewhere in the same form, in English or any other language. The submission of the article

has the approval of the all co-authors and the authorities of the host institute where work has beencarried out.

    3. The editorial board of IJPS discourages the submission of more than one article dealing withrelated aspects from the same study; this includes different aspects of data derived from one particularexperiment, or cases in which the analytical techniques, animals or experimental procedures arecommon to all papers. If author(s) have valid reasons for separation of reports of one particularexperiment into more than one paper, these must be submitted simultaneously.

    4. The Author(s) may suggest the names of at least three experts/reviewers, not form the hostorganization/institute where the work had been carried out (along with their complete mailing address,

contact nos. and e-mail id) whom they judge qualified to evaluate their research article. Thesesuggestions will only be considered if e-mail id's are also provided. Submission of such names does notimply that they will definitely be used for scrutiny.

    5. The Article submission certificate duly signed by all the authors/head of hostdepartment/institute (optional) on a prescribed format must be furnished along with article at the time

of submission. If the article is sent through e-mail, the scanned copy of certificate (signed/stamped) maybe attached.

    6. For publication of articles in IJPS, one of the contributing authors has to be the member (eitherlife or annual) of Indian Poultry Science Association.

    7. The submitted manuscripts will be assessed from editorial points of view, at first, and if foundsuitable for publication, it will be sent for peer-review. The review process will be a double-blind processwhere author(s) and referees are unaware of each others' names. The author(s) must abide by thesuggestions of referee and the editorial board of IJPS. The final decision to publish an article will lie withthe chief editor of IJPS.

    8. The corresponding author will be sent the PDF file of his/her published article free of cost via e-mail. No hard copies of the reprints will be provided.

    9. Indian Journal of Poultry Science has no page charges.

    10. The Instructions for authors (Revised -November, 2008) will take effect from April 2009 issueof IJPS onwards.
