INDIA SAARC ME BSM 28th- 30th April, 2019 (HOTEL LEELA, CHENNAI)
Based on the recommendation of the Ministry of Commerce, GJEPC organized the very 4th
edition of India SAARC ME BSM at Chennai from 28th April -30th April 2019 with 31 Indian
manufacturers and 76 international buyers. Initiative aims to offer a gateway to a huge potential
market, which will further boost the bilateral investment and trade opportunities.
The event is mix of Buyer Seller Meet ( BSM ) & mini Exhibition. The objective is to create one
on one engagement in the BSM format with dedicated confirmed 15-16 business meetings ,
which will be pre-fixed schedule of one to one meetings over 2 days (approx. 35/40 minutes for
each meeting) similar to the BSM format and after the initial 2 days, the subsequent day will be
converted into an open exhibition wherein buyers can interact with the rest of the manufacturers
like an open exhibition.
For Gem and Jewellery business, regions of Middle East and South Asia holds immense trade
potential due to the linkage of similar jewellery preferences and tastes. India is strategically
located as a Centre point of the SAARC region and it shares a land border with four member
nations and a sea border with two others. For the last few years the Council has been striving
hard to strengthen its bilateral trade relationship with South Asia countries which had reflected
in the buyer attendance from these countries in our key shows like IIJS and IIJS Signature. As
our trade relations are becoming increasingly significant. Looking at the positive feedback,
GJEPC proposes once again to host similar type in India involving manufacturers from India and
buyers neighbouring and West Asia / Far east countries/Middle East / US / UK.

The BSM has helped Indian manufacturers to showcase their capabilities to the Buyers
representing 15 Countries. The buyers have given immediate orders to many Indian
Manufacturers participating in the India SAARC ME BSM while some other buyers have started
doing sampling for bigger orders. All the buyers and especially the buyers from Middle East
and subcontinent were happy with the overall product display and liked the designs.
