• India is a country situated in South Asia in Asia continent. It is seventh-largest country by area

• Second-most populous country.• Capital: New Delhi• Government: Constitutional republic• Literacy: 65.38 %• Population- 1.27 billion• Official languages: Hindi Language, English

Language. All states have their own regional languages.

North India• In north India, there are 5

South India

• In south India, there are 5 states and 3 union territory consisting of Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Pondicherry, Islands of Andaman & Nicobar and Lakshadweep respectively.• From the back waters of Kerala

to exotic coral islands and lush green hill stations in Tamil Nadu all have a charm of their own.

East India

• There are 10 states in Eastern India i.e. Bihar, Orissa, west Bengal, Sikkim and seven sister states. Seven sister’s states consists of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.• The small but densely covered hills of

these states are a mystery which await to be discovered and explored. The tradition, culture, festivals everything has remained covered and is slowly opening up. • The Buddhist pilgrimages of Bihar or the

temples of Konark, Bhubaneshwar, and Puri in Orissa are visited by pilgrims as well as the tourists.

West India• The Arabian Sea guards the

western region of India. The places on the western coasts are usually regarded gateway to the western countries particularly the Gulf region.• Rajasthan, Gujarat,

Maharashtra, Goa are few states which form the coastal belt of west India. On Arabian sea is Mumbai, the commercial capital of India. Also, known as the dream city Mumbai has attracted people from all walks of life. The star attraction of Mumbai is Bollywood, one of the largest film industries.

Central India• The central India includes Madhya

Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Madhya Pradesh often called the Heart of India, is a state in central India. Its capital is Bhopal. Madhya Pradesh was the largest state in India until November 1, 2000 when the state of Chhattisgarh was carved out. • It has a lot of natural beauty its

dense forests, magnificent monuments, flowing rivers, beautiful valleys, lush green mountains, festivals and the vast plains make it paradise for the travelers.
