INDEX-Werke were founded in 1914 by Hermann Hahn, who that year began production of automatic

turret lathes. He was a Swabian entrepreneur through and through who laid the foundation for an

impressive development with creative ideas and the pursuit of quality. Within four decades, over

20,000 automatic lathes were sold, which gave INDEX an outstanding reputation around the world. ln

1975, INDEX began production of multi-spindie automatic lathes. A few years later, INDEX entered the

market for CNC technology, where it rapidly assumed a pioneering role. After the death of Eugen

Hahn, the son of the company's founder, 85% of the company shares were put into a foundation . ln

1992, INDEX presented a new generation of turn-mill centers based on a modular component system.

ln 1997, TRAUB Drehmaschinen GmbH & Co. KG from neighboring Reichenbach/Fils was acquired and

integrated into the INDEX Group. The company pursues a two-brand strategy to this day.

Scope:

Design engineering, production, installation, sales, commissioning, service and customer training.

With due regard to legal and regulatory requirements, as weil as safety regulations and constraints,

and our achievement potential, it is the company's aim to develop, produce and market

manufacturing systems based on single-spindle and multi -spindie CNC lathes that meet the

requirements and expectations of our customers.

Today, these include:

• Reliability

• Durability

• Safe and environmentally friendly product quality

• Easy handling

• Easy commissioning

• Flawless and user-friendly operating instructions

• Quick and knowledgeable service • Prompt spare parts supply

To meet these requirements, a management system for quality, occupational safety and environment in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001, DIN EN ISO 45001 and DIN EN ISO 14001, respectively, was introduced and is being continuously further developed. The management representatives - QMR, OMR and EMR- report directly to the management and are responsible for the planning, monitoring, and correction of the management system, so as to meet the requirements of standards DIN EN ISO 9001, DIN EN 45001 and DIN EN ISO 14001.

The management system for quality, occupational safety, and environment represents a description of the requirements we have defined. lts implementation ensures that all activities that have an impact on company performance are planned, controlled, and monitored and that contractually agreed requirements are met. With this policy statement, the executive board urges all employees to perform their activities according to the descriptions of the management system for quality, occupational safety and environment, to ensure that our company's quality and service provision, as weil as compliance with environmental requirements, are consistent with internal and external requirements. By means of the results assessment, internal audits and the performance evaluation (management review), the executive board reviews the performance and effectiveness of the management system.
