The IHS Choir competed for spots in the 2017 TMEA Region 24 All-Region Choir. We have 10 students in the All –
Regions Choir, and 7 of those will move forward to Pre-Area auditions.

Speech & Debate The Knight Speech & Debate Team had an outstanding showing at the Princeton HS tournament on Saturday! The team brought home the sweepstakes runner up trophy due to the outstanding performances of our students. Varsity girls took first place at the Fightin' Farmers meet in Farmersville. JV girls also won their division. Varsity and JV boys both each placed 2nd in their division.

From Counseling
PSAT TESTING – Wednesday, October 11, 2017 Schedule: 10th & 11th Grade: All 10th and 11th grade students will take the PSAT/NMSQT test. The tests will be given during 1A and 2A periods. Afternoon classes (3A and 4A) including CTE Center classes will follow the
regular schedule. Students will not attend 1A or 2A CTE courses. Room assignments for all 10th and 11th graders will be posted in the cafeteria
the week prior to testing. TESTING WILL BEGIN PROMPTLY AT 9:00 AM. Students should report to
the testing room before 9:00AM. 10th graders will need to bring a calculator if they choose to use one; Calcula-
tors will be provided to all 11th graders. Special Education students enrolled in 10th and 11th grade, that have been ex-empt from taking the PSAT/NMSQT, through ARD Committee decision, will have late arrival. Students should arrive at IHS no earlier than 12:20 pm. Report to the gym to wait to be released to 3rd period.
Special Education students enrolled in a centralized program, who are not participating in the PSAT/NMSQT, will have late arrival.
9th & 12th Grade: All 9th and 12th grade students will have late arrival. Students should arrive at
IHS no earlier than 12:20 pm. Report to the gym (parents can drop off in the back by the gym doors. There will be no carpool open in the front of the school).
Regular bell schedule will resume at the beginning of 3rd period (12:40 pm). CTE Center busses will depart from campuses at 1:00 pm. CELL PHONES/ELECTRONIC DEVICES are not allowed in the testing room. Do not bring cell phones to your testing room! Any cell phone or electronic
device (capable of capturing photos or accessing the internet) brought into the testing room will be picked up prior to testing and students will re-ceive a cell phone violation.
All collected electronic devices will need to be picked up from the front office after school by a parent.

From Counseling
Any student found with an electronic device in the testing room after testing
has begun will face appropriate consequences including the possibility of dismissal from the test and cancellation of scores. Juniors, this especially pertains to you because your PSAT score is linked to scholarship opportuni-ties!
Please leave all personal items in your locker or at home. FOOD AND DRINKS brought to the testing room must be placed by the
door to access during the breaks. Calculators: Although the use of a calculator is not required for this test, it may be helpful for students. Calculators will be provided to all 11th grade students. 10th grade students may bring a scientific or graphing calculator from home
(see list of acceptable calculator below). Mechanical pencils and highlighters are NOT allowed. Students are encour-aged to bring two Number 2 pencils for the testing session.

Picture Retake/Make up SchoolPix Inc. will be taking retakes on Oct. 12 for any students who were ab-sent on picture day and for all new students during lunches. School Portrait or-der forms are available in the school office for new students. For students who purchased pictures on original picture day and would like a retake, please fill out the customer service form enclosed in your portrait package. Please return the form along with the entire portrait package to the photographer on retake day. Original packages must be returned to the photographer on retake day in order to receive a replacement package.
