Indar Electric designs, manufactures and supplieselectric machines. Thousands of motors andgenerators produced in a period of more than sixtyyears have led it to create a strong basis ofexperience and know-how.

Nowadays, Indar Electric belonging to Ingeteamis the largest Spanish manufacturer of electricmotors and generators.

Our machines are renowned and appreciated fortheir sturdiness, quality and maximum reliability.

The corporate philosophy and products aimto give a differentiated personal treatment andcustom-built solutions.

This spirit of adaptability, is the force behind ourown advanced technology which, in turn, allows astrong position in the international markets.

That is the only way to win, to break limits andreach new goals.

Sheet stamping

This section is housed in a soundproofedbuilding and is equipped with cuttinglines, automatic numerical control punchpresses and an enamelling line. Here thesheet is stamped with maximumprecision, thus guaranteeing optimumquality during the useful life of theelectrical machine.

Coil manufacture and windings

The winding section consists of two areas, one for coil manufacture and the otherfor the insertion of coils and forconnections.

The first area is isolated from the otherworking areas, with constant temperatureand humidity control and modern meansof production to guarantee maximumquality when preparing the coils.

The second area is equipped withabundant resources that allow themachines to be manipulated carefully inthe different winding stages. Test arecarried out to ensure perfect qualitythroughout the process.

Machining centres

Equipped with the most advanced systemsand equipment, such as vertical lathes, boring mills, axle lathes and grindingmachines, CNC machining centres, especially designed for the manufactureof large machines.

The different sections are equipped with cutting-edgetechnological resources - R+D+i, sheet metal cutting, machining, winding, assembly, test bench anddeliveries. These installations are 40,000 m2. In linewith Indar’s commitment to its environment, it hasbeen certified in accordance with the EN ISO 14.001Environmental Management System.

Impregnation

The VPI impregnation process consists oftwo cycles. The first of these consists ofcreating a vacuum, removing the air andall humidity from the insulating material, then injecting resin under pressure intothe windings. Finally, they are placed inthe oven for the resin to polymerize, resulting in optimum insulation and solidity.

This section consists of the VacuumPressure Impregnation (VPI) tanks, fromwhich we obtain insulation class Hmachines, immersion tanks (static anddynamic) and curing ovens.

Machine assembly

The assembly area has a crane capacityof up to 240 tons. There is also an areaspecifically prepared for the assemblyof vertical machines.

Test center

At Indar Electric we test asynchronous, synchronous and d.c. machines in compliancewith such International Standards as IEC,NEMA, etc. Data gathering is automatedduring these tests.

If the client wishes, the machines can becertified in accordance with the requirementsof official classifying societies such as LloydsRegister, Bureau Veritas, Norske Veritas, etc.

Indar Electric possesses a R+D+i support unitstaffed by highly skilled people and equipped with state-of-the-art systems for the design and development ofits machines.

The philosophy of only working with one's own technologyensures maximum flexibility and performance.

Mechanical Finite elements calculations

The finite element study of the different components that formpart of the machine. The mechanical stresses require detailedresearch including the calculation of shafts, finite elementsimulations of the stresses supported by critical parts (frames,base-plates, covers, shafts, etc.).

FEM Magnetic design

Our knowledge of the physical phenomena, together with thelatest software to calculate finite elements, has allowed us tooptimize the electro-magnetic design of our machines andthus obtain higher performance.

Robust constructional design

Electric engineering uses modern electrical computingprograms that result in designs of optimum capabilityand efficiency. These are checked by conducting finiteelement simulations of electromagnetic fluxes and testson the bench in our installations.

Also, close cooperation with centres of technologicaldevelopment and universities allows us to developnew products.

9

Cooperation with the client forms part of the philosophyof the company, with a personalized and unique treatmentforming the basis of the relationship, and with a clearcommon purpose: to develop products and servicesadapted to the characteristics of each project.

Constructional design is particularly robust so as toensure the machine's long service life.

Fluid dynamic simulations, Thermal & CFD calculation

Indar Electric also uses advanced computer fluid dynamics(CFD) simulation software that is a model of current practicein the calculation and design.

3-D Drawing System

The main structural components are analyzed by meansof 3-D Drawing System.

The greater flexibility of design in the machines allowsadaptation to the specific requirements of each application.

Indar Electric offers a wide range of products designedto meet the most varied needs of our customers, from theenergy, marine, and industrial sectors.

All the machines have been integrally developed withour own technology and by making the most of Indar's richexperience in those fields in order to provide maximumsturdiness and quality.

Since its creation, Indar Electric has always seen the industryas the core for the growth of the company. Business in thissector enabled us to amass a tremendous amount of experienceand gain customers from all over the world.

The most frequent applications in the industry include drivesfor pumps, fans and mills as well as traversing motors. Foursectors that, however, have their own peculiarities to beadded to the characteristics of each installation. The designparameters of a motor drive are basically the same for abanbury mixer in the rubber industry or a pulper in the paperindustry, or a coal mill in a thermal power plant, but it isthis vast experience in all these sectors which permits thedevelopment of optimum equipment for each use.

In-house developed technology makes it possible for us totransform an initially standard machine by adding differentmodules and accessories in order to make it fit for therequired application or to build a totally customized orpurpose-designed machine.

In the iron&steel industry, the characteristics offered byIndar Electric can make the difference:

Long experience and supplies all over the world.

Versatility to meet customer or plant-specificrequirements, owing to high technological standardsand to the organisation's great flexibility.

Sturdiness, reliability and quality as required by theiron&steel industry for uninterrupted operation even inadverse environmental and working conditions.

To satisfy all the needs of this sector, we offer a completerange of specially designed products, including from direct-current motors to cycle-converter-fed synchronous motors orPWM-controlled alternating current motors. The design andmanufacture of all those machines comply with diverseinternational standards in the iron&steel industry, like IEC,NEMA, AISE MILL, ASA, ANSI, VDE, JEMA.
