DESIGN FOR CHANGE CONTEST 2010

OBJECTIVES

To help children voice their opinions and participate in issues that affect them through informed debates and discussions.

To actively encourage children on community action to get their needs heard in the Panchayat.

ISSUE TAKEN UP

1. Eureka Superkidz Centre in the village is loacted in Aadi Dravida colony.

2. The place around the centre was unclean with thorns, bushes and garbage.

3. Children wanted the place around their studying area to be cleaned and took up the issue to be solved.

ACTION TAKEN

Children gave petition to village Panchayat.

Since there was no proper response, they decided to initiate cleaning, themselves.

With the help of their teacher, children cleaned the area around the learning center.
