• Bharti Foundation

– Bharti Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Bharti Group Companies.

– The Foundation aims to help underprivileged children and young people of our country realize their potential.

• Satya Bharti School Program

– The Satya Bharti School Program is the flagship program of Bharti Foundation.

– It aims to deliver free quality education to underprivileged children, with special focus on the girl child across rural India.

– The program goal is to establish 500 Primary and 50 Senior Schools reaching out to over 200,000 students

– The promise of this large scale program, through its operation, is to create a replicable, scalable and holistic model of quality education in rural India

– Present Operational Status:

• Number of Schools Operational: 236

• States of Operation: Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh & Tamil Nadu

• Number of Students Enrolled: Over 30,000

About the Community• Geographical Location:

• Madho Singh Pura is situated very near to National High Way No.8 (Delhi – Jaipur High Way).

• The nearest Govt. Sr. Secondary School is in Neemrana which is aprrox. 5 kms. From the village,

• The Nearest Government Primary Health Centre situated in Neemrana. • The nearest Post office & Banks is situated in Neemrana.• The nearest Police station is Neemrana. • The nearest market is Neemrana which is approx. 5 km form the village.• Drinking water facility provided by government and constructed water supply

tank, apart from this Hand pumps and bore wells are other source of water.• The main occupation of villagers are mining, working and other Business but

few people are also engaged in agriculture.• The village is well connected with approach road and connecting to NH 8.• The village situated the nearest of Indian Export Promotion Zone & Japanese

Zone and of RICCO.

About the Community

– Cultural Background

– Majority of the population belongs to Hindu community .

– Dominant cast in village is Saini (Mali).

– The villagers followed the all Hindu rituals and festivals.

– The dressing style of community is long white Kurta & Dhoti / Pant & Shirt, for men and women dressing style is Ghagra & Odhni.

– It’s a mix culture of Rajasthan & Hariyana as Hariyana border is very close to this location.

– They are the followers of all Hindu God & Goddess.

– It is Men dominant community and they are the main decision makers.

– Prevalence of Dowry is very high in the village.

– They are still following the Early Marriage/Child Marriage.

• There are many problems in the village but we felt that Dowry is one of the major social problem of village.

• Dowry is one of the evil practices in our country. It causes a great impact and social disturbances. Our students have decided to conduct rallies, campaign, nukad natak to aware the villagers.

• Organised a meeting with community people to make them understand about the initiative of Satya Bharti School.

• Organised a rally on dowry and educate community people.

• Conducted Street play in different location of community on dowry.

• Prepare the Slogans & posters on dowry.

• Write a message against Dowry on walls & other public Places.

• The community people recognized the effort of Satya Bharti School.

• The villagers told that “Satya Bahrti School is not only providing quality education to their children but they are also educating villagers on various Social issues”.

• Village Sarpanch appreciated the initiative of Satya Bahrti School and asked the villagers to be a part of this campaign and eliminate such social problems from their village.

• Understand the felt need of community and work on it.• The girl child feel proud to be a part of this campaign and

become change agents.• The teachers were confident to take such initiative in Saini

Community. • It was great feeling for all girls, those are studying with Satya

Bharti School.

Experience of Community Members & Teachers:

• The teachers feel that they can make a difference in society by initiating such kind of campaign in the village and eliminate the dowry system from our society.

• The community people feel that they can work together for

such social evil and eliminate from their village.

• They got the confidence to raise their voice against Dowry.

• To educate community people about the Anti Dowry Act.
