Creating safety net for elderly people

• Globalization left a big impact on the families and the social security system has broken up.• Big number of elderly people victimized of loneliness.• Nobody has time to listen them even their grandson/ daughter are busy to watch television or movie.• The cultural transmission are going to end due to decreasing of local stories and folk songs that were with the elderly people.• Generation gap is increasing slowly slowly and there is no option to bridge this gap.

We felt

They have separate room at out side the house

They only have work to take care of small children at home

Still they are working in fields or being addict of any drug for passing their time

Our students decide to save their stories and experiences at school.

They decide to give proper time to elderly people and started to listen their stories and folk songs that they want to tell and sing.

Students wrote down these stories and folk songs and started to share these with each other in story time classes.

They are making feel happy to their grandmother/father by giving such respect and learning a lot from them.

The problem of loneliness is not now problem in the village of Harvar ki dhani.

We Imagined

They are Listening and writing the stories

They are sharing these story with each others at home and school

They are making a library of this stories at school and home

They are giving thank you cards for their

beautiful Songs & stories

There is a big collection of stories in the school. The children are started to sit with their grandmother/father at

home to listen good stories and songs. These stories are working as a bridge to sort out the problems

that comes due to generation gap. Loneliness problem is not now problem in the village. Elderly people coming regularly to the school for taking care of

their children and know about their study. Elderly people are learning singing and telling stories because

their grandchildren are waiting for some new stories.

They will die but their stories will never die

Impact on community and us

Aaj kal bacche roj hamse kahaniya sunte hai or unko likhkar school main or dusre logon ko sunate hai.

Shri Kalyan meena Rojana nai kahani yaad karni padti hai bacche kahani sun kar unhe

likhte hai or school mai jakar sabko batate hai.

Bhuri devi Aaj kal village ke bade log school main aakar apne

bacchon ki padhai ke bare main baat karte hai jo ki pahle school main nahi aate the
