Macromedia University has a Buddy-
network which connects international
students to native students. You will be
contacted by your buddy upon arrival in
Germany. Your buddy will assist you with
questions and answers regarding your time
studying abroad and help you during the
beginning of your stay at Macromedia
University.
Buddies are of great help assisting you with
orientation during your first days and weeks
in Germany and providing interesting and
helpful insights about your new home town.
YOUR BUDDY HELPS YOU:
• Gives you assistance in (pre)-arrival arrangements
• Contacts you before your arrival (possibly airport/railway station pickup)
• Accompanies you during Orientation Days, orientation during first days
• Register at the Residents Registration Office/Foreigners Registration Office
• Assist in opening a bank account
• Support regarding apartment search
• Assistance for questions regarding health insurance
• Helping in organisational issues and questions regarding studies (courses,
examination matters)
• Connecting international students with native students (e.g. events, movie
nights)
• May be a language tandem
