Welcome

Thank you to everyone who came with us in 2011 and for the incredibly positive feedback and very generous letters of appreciation. Many of you have asked for new destinations and a greater choice of dates to old favourites. We hope we’ve obliged with many new places and lots more dates, taking our total this year to 35.

The beauty of a small company like ours is that you receive top-class personal service from the moment you ring us to the moment we take you home at the end of your holiday and it’s time to put the kettle on.

The formula of door-to-door transport, superb hotels, inclusive excursions and proper customer service is here to stay.

Our 2012 Programme

As you browse through this brochure we hope that you like the tours we are offering, that you like what you see and that we will be privileged with a booking from you. Remember the price you see is the price you pay – there are no hidden extras (apart from spending money). There’s no need to worry about dragging your cases from home to the coach as we offer complete luggage handling throughout your tour. There’s no need to worry about refreshments on your way to and from your destination as they are all included in the price; and all are taken away from the motorways, either in a hotel or restaurant. In fact we do everything we can to make your holiday as relaxing as possible, from the moment we pick you up at your home to the moment that we drop you off at the end of your tour.

We do not include travel and health insurance because many people have annual travel insurance included with their credit or debit cards, or as members of organisations. However, we are fully authorised to provide travel insurance at a competitive rate (and we’ve held the cost at last year’s prices!). We’ve also introduced Annual Multi-Trip Insurance of £34 for holidays booked with us, so that in most cases you will save money if you choose more than one holiday. If you don’t want extra insurance, please check that your own insurance provides you with the cover you need when making your decision.

On our holidays we come to you! You don’t have to make your way to your departure point 2 hours before time – we pick you up at your door for the journey to the coach. Once you have given your case to the taxi driver, you can rest assured that it will be safely delivered to your hotel bedroom. We have no hidden extras and the price you see is the price you pay. Walk straight from your taxi onto the coach where you will be greeted and shown to your seat and, at the second of our two departure points, you will be offered a choice of a hot or cold drink. You can also order a complimentary newspaper of your choice.

Booking is so easy. Just ring us on 01254 872000, tell us which tour(s) you would like to book then leave the rest to us. There is no need to leave the comfort of your home. We require a deposit of £40 per person plus insurance and the balance 8 weeks prior to departure.

We are confident that, once you have travelled with us, you will want to come with us again. We promise we will work as hard as we can to give you the best service. If you are happy with us, we hope you will tell your friends, relatives and acquaintances (and maybe passing strangers!).

Remember, if we can help in any way at all, just ring...

01254 872000 (office hours please).

How will I get to the coach? All our customers are picked up by taxi from their home and taken to the coach.

Do I need sandwiches for the journey?Depending on the length of the journey we will provide regular refreshment breaks which are included in the cost of the holiday. For a long journey with an early start we will stop for a full breakfast and afternoon tea. For a journey with a later start we will stop for lunch.

I prefer a shower to a bath. How can I arrange this?If you would like any special requests such as a ground floor room or a shower please let us know at the time of booking and we will work with the hotel to provide what you need. You can also order a complimentary newspaper for the outward journey if you wish.

I would love to go on holiday but I am worried about getting about as I use a walker at home. Customers are welcome to bring a walker but please let us know on booking so that we can order the correct size of taxi.

Can I bring my scooter on holiday? We can take a limited number of scooters but please advise us on booking so that we can ensure we have space.

How do you choose the hotels for the holiday? Our choice of hotel is based on recommendation and we visit each new hotel to check the standard of the accommodation on offer.

How do you choose the excursions? Each trip is researched to obtain the best possible customer experience and we also listen to customer suggestions and ideas. We endeavour to change the excursions every year to add variety.

I am considering travelling alone for the first time and find this a little daunting. We endeavour to look after our customers from doorstep to doorstep. Many of our customers travel alone and find that we are a friendly group and there is always someone new to talk to in the hotel and on the excursions. We actively encourage group interaction and ensure that all passengers are introduced to each other to break the ice.

I am going on holiday next week and my friend has asked to come. Is it too late? The more the merrier. Always call us, we can contact the hotel and if we possibly can, even at short notice, we will do our very best to fit an extra person in.

I have been on coach holidays before and the coach took ages to get to the destination as it did several pick ups on the way?We only have two coach pick up points, in Accrington and Rochdale. All passengers are transported to the coach and we do no further pick ups en route.

Are you part of a national holiday chain? No. We are a local firm and we do all our own research and pick our own hotels and excursions. Each year we take feedback from our customers and adjust each holiday to improve it for the following year. We have total control over our holidays and the driver can make adjustment to allow for changes in weather or the wishes of the passengers.

There are many firms offering coach holidays. Why should I choose you?We are a local firm with the best tour drivers whose priority is the care of each individual passenger. We do not run holidays for anyone else and we are not part of a national chain. We give a personal touch to our holidays and listen to our customers’ wishes to improve our performance every year. We combine a young firm with the experience of our tour drivers to produce what we believe is the best touring company in the UK. We have an incredibly high rebooking rate with many of our new customers coming from personal recommendations.

You are a smaller local firm rather than a big chain. Is my money safe with you?As soon as you book a holiday with us you are allocated Payment Protection Insurance (PPI), which protects you against either the hotel or coach company going into liquidation. Therefore your money is just as safe with us as with a national chain.

Do I have to take your holiday insurance? Not at all. Although we offer holiday insurance there is no obligation to take our policy and you are welcome to take out your own policy from whichever is your preferred source. However we would advise that you do have some form of holiday insurance.

I have paid for my holiday. Why have I been sent a PPI insurance certificate? The PPI insurance certificate protects the payment you have made from either the hotel or coach company going into administration. It is a legal requirement that all holidays are protected in this way.

What if I become ill and am unable to go on the holiday? Please let us know as early as possible. Refunds are based on the amount of notice given of cancellation. If you have taken out our insurance you will then call the number on the back of the policy to initiate a claim for any money not covered in the initial refund. Our cancellation charges can found in our Trading Charter.

When your booking is confirmed you will be offered the best seats that are available at that time. If you know someone who may want to book later but sit near you please discuss this with the booking clerk at the time you make your booking.

Specific seats will not be allocated on coaches that operate on feeder services between joining points and main holiday departure points, on coaches which carry out transfers to and from seaports or airports.

HEALTH & SAFETY ON HOLIDAYYour GP or your travel agent can provide you with the leaflet "Health Advice for Travellers" published by the Department of Health. If you need advice or further information either you or your booking agent should contact us.

SPECIAL CARE FOR THE DISABLEDThe holidays in this brochure have been carefully planned to include as much of interest as possible. Inevitably some of the holidays include lengthy periods of travel and some walking on sightseeing excursions. Additionally, many of the hotels will have steps to contend with and may not possess lifts, and although we try our best to look after disabled passengers, it is important that you enter the word DISABLED in block capitals in the special requirements section of the booking form, together with a brief description of your disability. It is not always possible for our driver(s) to provide a sufficient level of care particularly in the case of single travellers with severe mobility problems and we advise that single travellers with such problems have a travelling companion to assist. We will make every endeavour to minimise the discomfort and inconvenience, but for obvious reasons are unable to make any guarantees.

WHEELCHAIRS AND MOBILITY SCOOTERSTransportation of wheelchairs and scooters is at the passengers own risk and we cannot be held responsible for any damage to them. Passengers must be able to assemble and dismantle their own scooters (into no more than 5 pieces) and each piece must weigh no more than 40lbs.

NEW FIRE REGULATIONS (from 1st October 2006): - Due to new Fire Regulations all hotel customers MUST be able to use the stairs to get themselves downstairs in case of emergency. Lifts cannot be used in case of fire and fire services will no longerbe able to assist clients downstairs. Guests unable to get themselves downstairs in an emergency situation can only be accommodated on the ground floor.

SPECIAL REQUESTSIf you will require a special diet please tell us before booking, or as soon as you are medically advised, and send us a copy of the diet. We will notify the hotel or hotels on your holiday but please note that some hotels may not have facilities to cope with special diets and we cannot be held liable for their failure to do so.Where we think this is likely to happen we will tell you prior to your booking confirmation being issued so that you can exercise your right to cancel your holiday booking without charge. You must pay any extra costs incurred to the hotel prior to departure from the hotel.

You should also detail any other requests, for example, low floor rooms, particular rooms or locations on the special requests section of the booking form. We will pass your request to the relevant supplier but this does not necessarily mean that your request will be fulfilled. If a request can be fulfilled you may incur an extra charge payable either to us or direct to the hotel. Please note that requests cannot be guaranteed unless we confirm on your booking confirmation that this is a guaranteed requirement.

SINGLE OCCUPANCYOn any holiday there are only a limited number of single rooms. When a single room is available it may be subject to a supplementary charge and this will be shown on the holiday page. Some services may be affected by weather conditions and their availability is at the discretion of the provider of the service. Entertainment (particularly live entertainment) provided by the hotels is frequently subject to demand and its nature and/or frequency may be varied if there is lack of demand or insufficient numbers staying in the hotel.
