Christ, the glory of God

John 1:14 The Word became flesh and made his

dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the

glory of the One and Only, who came from the

Father, full of grace and truth.


Glory:


Exodus 33:13 Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have

found favor in thy sight, show me now thy ways,

that I may know thee and find favor in thy sight.

Consider too that this nation is thy people."


14 And he said, "My presence will go with you, and I

will give you rest."


15 And he said to him, "If thy presence will not go

with me, do not carry us up from here.


16 For how shall it be known that I have found favor

in thy sight, I and thy people? Is it not in thy going

with us, so that we are distinct, I and thy people,

from all other people that are upon the face of the

earth?"


17 And the LORD said to Moses, "This very thing

that you have spoken I will do; for you have found

favor in my sight, and I know you by name."


18 Moses said, "I pray thee, show me thy glory."


19 And he said, "I will make all my goodness pass

before you, and will proclaim before you my name

`The LORD'; and I will be gracious to whom I will

be gracious, and will show mercy on whom I will

show mercy.


Jeremiah 9:23 Thus says the LORD: "Let not the

wise man glory in his wisdom, let not the mighty

man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in

his riches;


24 but let him who glories glory in this, that he

understands and knows me, that I am the LORD

who practice steadfast love, justice, and

righteousness in the earth; for in these things I

delight, says the LORD."


Hebrews 1:3 The Son is the radiance of God's glory

and the exact representation of his being, sustaining

all things by his powerful word. After he had

provided purification for sins, he sat down at the

right hand of the Majesty in heaven.

saying, "This was he of whom I said, 'He who

comes after me has surpassed me because he was

before me.'"


16 From the fullness of his grace we have all

received one blessing after another.


17 For the law was given through Moses; grace and

truth came through Jesus Christ.


18 No one has ever seen God, but God the One and

Only, who is at the Father's side, has made him

known.

world was made through him, the world did not

recognize him.

"Recognize" – (1) Going to your 30th class reunion. Some

you recognize; some you don't recognize without a name

tag. (2) Legal sense. The court doesn't recognize your right

to damages; the court doesn't recognize your right to fifty

percent parental visitation. After President Trump's election,

a whole slew of people didn't "recognize" him as their

president.
