Day 2: Wednesday 12th September, 2018LimaYou will be picked up at the hotel for your city tour through old and new parts of Lima. Afterwards, you will drive to one of the markets of Lima. Your guide will explain about local fruits and vegetables. You will also have the chance to taste an exotic specialty.Accommodation: Hotel Jose Antonio Deluxe

Day 3: Thursday 13th September, 2018Lima-CuscoYou will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to Lima Airport for your flight to Cusco. The “Navel of the Earth” is another name for Cusco, since during the height of the Inca civilization nearly all pathways led to this capital of the empire. Upon arrival in Cusco, transfer to your hotel. In the afternoon you will start your tour through Cusco and its surrounding ruins. Afterwards, you will visit the Coca Museum in the district of San Blas. Learn about the sacred leaf used by the Inca and its multiple uses.Accommodation: Novotel Cusco

Day 4: Friday 14th September, 2018CuscoToday you will start your discovery trip through the Sacred Valley with a visit to the old Inca town Chinchero, situated about 28km north of Cusco. The town is situated at an altitude of 3,762m, only overshadowed by the larger Chicón mountain at a towering 5,530m. Later, you go to Moray, a Pre-Incan site built with round, agricultural terraces, some of them up to 150m deep. Nearby, you will visit the salt flats near the small village of Maras.Accommodation: Hotel Novotel Cusco

Day 6: Sunday 16th September, 2018Cusco-Wayllabamba-Yuncachimpa

You will be picked up at the hotel at 5:30am and start your four-day adventure on the famous Inca Trail, one of the most important trekking paths in Peru. You will travel to the Sacred Valley town of Ollantaytambo to have breakfast and stock up on any last-minute supplies you might need. From Ollantaytambo you will go to the official starting point of the Inca Trail at Km 82 to be registered. Day 7: Monday 17th September, 2018Yuncachimpa-ChaquicochaToday is a free hike day, meaning that everyone should walk at whatever speed is most comfortable for them, as this is the most difficult day of the trek. Today you will pass through the Llullachapampa Valley (3,850m), tackle the strenuous ascent of Dead Woman Pass before trekking down to Chaquichocha (3,650m) where you will camp for the second night of the trek. Day 8: Tuesday 18th September, 2018Chaquicocha-Wiñay WaynaDay three of the Inca Trail is known as the most beautiful one, as you walk through varying gorgeous environments including the tropical forest of Wiñay Wayna. You will visit the ancient ruins of Phuyupatamarca “Town Above the Clouds” (3,600m). After Phuyupatamarca, you continue to the ruins of Wiñay Wayna “Forever Young” (2,650m) where you are free to explore for a little bit. Day 9: Wednesday, 19th September, 2018Wiñay Wayna-CuscoAn early rise today to ensure that you can catch the sunrise over Huayna Picchu and Machu Picchu. After breakfast you will head over to the Inti Punku (Sun Gate) with your flashlights, to get to the best spot for the sunrise. From here, you will take the final descent of the trek which will take about an hour, and end at the majestic Machu Picchu (2,400m). You will get a guided tour of about two hours followed by the rest of the day to explore the lost city of the Incas at your leisure. Between them the most important is the archaeological park of the fortress-temple Sacsayhaman, then to Awana Kancha, a living museum of Andean camelids including Llamas, Alpacas, and the very rarely seen Vicuñas and Guanucos. Continue with a visit to the market of Pisac before continuing in the afternoon to Ollantaytambo. The impressive fortress thrones protectively above the village, the sight is great. Visit a typical house located in the town of Ollantaytambo and experience the unique way of living in the Sacred Valley in a family home owned for generations, located close to the entrance of the Ollantaytambo ruins. You make your way through the Sacred Valley, the train passing little villages before you reach Aguas Calientes and board the shuttle bus to the Machu Picchu ruins. Here, you learn more about its discovery and the different theories on how and why it was built, visiting the main plaza, the Temple of Three Windows, the circular tower, the sacred sun dial and the burial grounds.
