A sold out Allianz Stadium in Sydney will host the fourth and only Australian leg of the HSBC Sevens World Series where the best 16 countries will compete in the seven-a-side two day competition. Led by Captain Ed Jenkins, a buoyant Australia, on the back of a Plate Final victory in Wellington, will be out to impress on home soil as they start to shape their team for the Rio Olympics later this year. Bolstered by recent star signings including Henry Speight – who is set to make his Sevens debut this weekend – the seventh-placed Aussies will face Portugal and Canada in their pool matches before a showdown with New Zealand, and Sonny Bill Williams, highlights the opening day’s action at 9.03pm. Series leaders, South Africa, lead Pool B’s line up of Kenya, Scotland and Russia while Pool C pits 2015 champions Fiji against Argentina, Samoa and France with England, United States, Japan and Wales making up the final group, Pool D. Sunday marks finals day with the top two teams from each pool progressing to the playoffs, culminating at 7.04pm when the two best performing teams face off for Grand Final glory.
