At the event, members of the board of trustees and the chamber of commerce and the mayor of Delaware used their scissors to cut an 84-foot-long ribbon that surrounded the Village Square’s mezzanine. The 400- plus visitors then spread across the $14,000,000 building’s apartments, gathering areas and health care center to sample delicacies provided by the village chefs in An Upper Arlington couple wasn’t looking to get out from under a bur- densome mortgage or gain more income. In fact, the couple was financially comfortable and fairly certain they would be in their home for the rest of their lives. In their 70s, they simply were seeking asset protection and insur- ance against whatever the future might bring. They wanted their largest investment to pay off while they were still around to enjoy the bene- fits. “We wanted to get as much out of the house as we could while we were alive,” said the husband. As a ministerial servant for his church, the hus- band had helped fellow parishioners in financial trouble to use a reverse mortgage. “For the people I’ve put onto it — it’s a life saver,” he said. After researching the option for years on behalf of others, he decided it made sense for his own family. “It really is an excellent tool.” “Reverse mortgages allow homeowners age 62 and older to convert part of their home’s equity into income without having to sell their home, give up title, or incur a new monthly payment,” said Tina Vogel Kuba, a reverse mortgage expert at Mort- gage Corp. of Ohio. A reverse mortgage can provide cash flow to recip- ients in retirement for items such as health care, home maintenance or increased cost of living. Repayment is not neces- sary until the borrower sells the property, moves into a retirement commu- nity or passes away. “You just don’t know what’s coming down the road,” the husband said. To educate the public about reverse mortgages, Kuba will conduct a free seminar on Oct. 28, 2:30 p.m., at the Dublin Public Library at 75 N. High St. For an individual con- sultation, contact Kuba at 614-761-1200 or 800-589-1355. Please visit MortgageCorpofOhio.com to try the reverse mortgage calculator. Noted benefits of this prac- tice date back to ancient times. Sound too good to be true? One visit to the Body Wrap Spa could change your mind. “When I first came to the Body Wrap Spa, I was a bit skeptical about the whole process,” said client Mark F, who recently has lost 30 inches. “But over the past months, I have seen a dramatic change in how I look and feel. I also found that including working out and eating right, along with head to toe body wraps, it’s much easier to keep the weight off. “ The spa’s all-natural solution is heated and soaked into elastic bandages (wraps) that are then compression wrapped around the body. Heat from the wraps causes pores to open, while a mix of amino acids, collagen, vitamins and minerals causes toxins to be drawn from the skin and cellulite to be attacked directly. The result is skin tightening and firming; cellulite elimination; fading of stretch marks and surgical scars; and a recontoured, sculpted shape. Our solutions contain the only FDA-approved ingredients for the elimination of cellulite. At 86, client Ruth Wagner had trouble exercising regularly. How- ever, she said she is now able to walk one to two miles each day and still enjoy square dancing. “I am so grateful for The Body- Wrap Spa!” Ruth said. “The body wraps have given me more vitality and have helped me so much with arthritis pain and swelling as well helping me to lose inches.” Benefits of a wrap also can include soothing sore muscles and increasing blood circulation. Both men and women enjoy the peace- ful and relaxing procedure, during which clients can lose anywhere from 5 to 30 inches in as quick as an hour. “Overall, the day I came to (Body Wrap Spa) was one of the best decisions I made about my overall health and well-being,” Mark said. As a special introductory offer, The Body Wrap Spa is offering new customers a full-body wrap for only $29.99 — a savings of more than $40. In addition, teeth whitening services will be avail- able soon. Get a million dollar smile to go with that revitalized body. Call 614-860-9727 today to schedule your appointment. BODY WRAP SPA Lose inches, gain vitality with an all-natural herbal body wrap When you were younger, you proba- bly listened to your music as loud as you could because it was cool. Now, as you’re get- ting older, you may find yourself turning up the volume again. But now it’s because your hearing may not be what it used to be. The volume knob isn’t the only signal you are hav- ing trouble hearing. It may be harder to communicate with family and friends. Suddenly, you can barely hear the waitress at your favorite restaurant. You’re still young, but your hearing is making you feel old. You’re not alone — nearly 40 percent of hearing- impaired Americans are younger than 65. Hearing loss is a major problem in today’s society. It is the third most prevalent chronic condition after arthritis and high blood pressure. Why is hearing loss such an issue now? Well, the largest segment of the Amer- ican population is the baby boomers, which has been exposed to more noise pollu- tion than any previous gen- eration. Just think about how things have changed during your lifetime. There have been wild rock concerts, bass-thumping discos, action-packed movies and, most recently, personal music devices. Prolonged or loud noise exposure has overtaken age as the leading cause of hearing loss. New Generation of Hearing Technology The new demographics of hearing loss are changing the outdated stigma that hearing instruments are only for old people. Like the technology used in cell phones, computers and MP3 players, the science behind hearing instruments is advancing at breakneck speed. They are smaller and more discreet than ever before, and they work even more effectively. Today’s hearing instruments come in a variety of colors to blend with skin tones and hair color. With technological advancements, no one but you has to know you’re wearing a hearing instru- ment. Turn Up the Volume on Your Life With so many choices of hearing instruments, how do you know which is right for your hearing needs, budget and comfort? The licensed profes- sionals at HearUSA can give you a hearing evaluation, show you all the options and help you pick out the best hearing aid for you. With more than 180 locations throughout the United States, HearUSA has 10 locations in Ohio. So if your hearing fades while you’re young, don’t wait until you’re old to do something about it. A sculpture by Delaware artist Ebb Haycock was unveiled at the event. Haycock is a retired art professor from Ohio Wes- leyan University. “The Dancers” represents the culmination of his life’s work and took nearly a year to complete. It is now the centerpiece of the Village Square lobby at Delaware Run. Willow Brook officials announced at the opening that only five apartments and eight twin-single homes remained unspoken for on that campus, and just a few twin-singles are still available to Willow Brook Christian Village nearby.
