Boviteq, McIntosh Embryo Transfer, Tavistock Veterinarians and Fradon Holsteins have joined together

to offer a wide range of services for dairymen to manage the genetic advancement of their herds.

Dr. Chris Church (OAC 96, OVC 00), Tavistock Veterinarians

Accredited by Boviteq to perform OPU services, Dr. Chris Church is a veterinarian specializing in dairy

production medicine for 14 years. He worked with the Milverton-Wellesley Veterinary Clinic for two years

before starting his current position with the Tavistock Veterinarian group. Chris received his embryo

transfer training in 2008 from the University of Saskatchewan. He has been licensed for embryo export

by the Canadian Embryo Transfer Association and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency since 2012.

He is currently the president-elect for the Ontario Association of Bovine Practitioners.

Alex McIntosh, McIntosh Embryo Transfer

Establishing McIntosh Embryo Transfer in 1981, Alex has been performing embryo transfer full-time for

34 years, completing over 30,000 flushes. Alex was a pioneer in the field of embryo splitting (first in

Canada in 1982) and perfecting the direct transfer method (published in Theriogenology 1993). Large

numbers of embryos with the McIntosh seal of quality have been and continue to be exported

worldwide. He was recognized by the Oxford County Federation of Agriculture with the Innovation

Award in 2013.

Both Alex and his wife, Janet, of over 30 years were born and raised on large dairy farms in the Oxford

County rural community of Embro. Janet works with Alex in the ET lab and their four children are all

involved in agriculture, one of whom manages the McIntosh family's poultry and dairy operation,

Calmac Holsteins.

Fradon Holsteins

Fradon Holsteins was established in 1980 by Frank and Don Donkers in Branchton, Ontario. For 34 years,

Frank and Don bred and developed genetics that were highly sought after by dairymen worldwide. Recently,

Fradon split their business with Don and his son, Luke, milking under the Rose Vega prefix at the home farm

in Branchton; and Frank and his son, Jim, moving Fradon Holsteins to a new location in Woodstock. This

new Fradon location is a Boviteq accredited OPU satellite and donor facility.
