The fastest me for a four person team was recorded in 2004 — five days, eight hours and seventeen minutes. The ride across the country requires constant monitoring. Every cyclist wears equipment to ensure their vital signs are right where they should be and doctors, nutrionists and bike mechanics evaluate their status while they ride. The goal for the cyclist is to race hard and fast, the goal for the support team is to keep him or her healthy while doing so. On the aſternoon of March 20, our church leadership (Session and Staff) spent nearly five hours with a consultant from Holy Cow! Consulng to review the findings from the recent Congregaon Assessment Tool that we took earlier this year. In the same way that a competor in The Race Across America needs a team to objecvely monitor their own vital signs, we needed a consultant to help us monitor our health and to point to places that need aenon. We had 209 people take the assessment, which is 63% of the people who were invited to take it and 99% of our average worship aendance in 2015. This means that the data we received accurately reflects where we stand as a church. Using the assessment, Holy Cow! produced something called a Vital Signs Report. The report is incredibly comprehensive and should serve as an important tool as we connue to have conversaons around our church identy. Session is sll unpacking the report and the meeng. Over the next few months you will have the opportunity to aend a CAT Report Forum, as well as other small group discussions. The intenon of these forums is to give you the opportunity to hear about our meeng, discuss some of the findings and to provide feedback. Your leaders are looking forward to having these important conversaons as we seek to moving forward into our next chapter! COMING IN MAY

THE FINAL WORD

The Race Across America is a grueling cycling race that takes place every June. Racers start by dipping their tire in the Pacific Ocean in California and end with doing the same in the Atlantic in Maryland. Most teams are made up of four cyclists and a support team of eight to twelve others. A member from each team is riding around the clock. The fastest time for a four person team was recorded in 2004 — five days, eight hours and seventeen minutes. The ride across the country requires constant monitoring. Every cyclist wears equipment to ensure their vital signs are right where they should be and doctors, nutritionists and bike

mechanics evaluate their status while they ride. The goal for the cyclist is to race hard and fast, the goal for the support team is to keep him or her healthy while doing so. On the afternoon of March 20, our church leadership (Session and Staff) spent nearly five hours with a consultant from Holy Cow! Consulting to review the findings from the recent Congregation Assessment Tool that we took earlier this year. In the same way that a competitor in The Race Across America needs a team to objectively monitor their own vital signs, we needed a consultant to help us monitor our health and to point to places that need attention. We had 209 people take the assessment, which is 63% of the people who were invited to take it and 99% of our average worship attendance in 2015. This means that the data we received accurately reflects where we stand as a church. Using the assessment, Holy Cow! produced something called a Vital Signs Report. The report is incredibly comprehensive and should serve as an important tool as we continue to have conversations around our church identity. Session is still unpacking the report and the meeting. Over the next few months you will have the opportunity to attend a CAT Report Forum, as well as other small group discussions. The intention of these forums is to give you the opportunity to hear about our meeting, discuss some of the findings and to provide feedback. Your leaders are looking forward to having these important conversations as we seek to moving forward into our next chapter!

We are pleased to announce that Dixie Brain, Jean Mangone and Ed Rommerdahl have joined CFD (Christian Formation and Discipleship). Working with Pastor Dave, CFD would like to present some new opportunities for spiritual growth: On April 3, Pastor Dave will begin a sermon series on Resurrection Stories. In Acts, we read that Jesus spent forty days on earth with the Apostles after his resurrection. We’ll explore their time together and see how the event of the resurrection continues to give us hope today. A study guide to accompany this series will be available for those of you in small groups who would like to delve into the series more deeply. Looking forward to the summer with the sermon series titled: A Season of Giving. We will learn the importance of a servant heart and how to use our time, talents and finances to further God’s kingdom. This series will begin in May and small group curriculum will be available. Keep tuned for more information. Exploring Church Membership classes are slated for April. In this class, you will learn what it means to be a part of the Presbyterian Church in general and St. Peter’s in particular. This is a place to ask questions and understand that member-ship matters. Classes are being offered: Sunday, April 17, 12:00 p.m.—2:00 p.m. Lunch will be served. Wednesday, April 20, 7:00 p.m.—9:00 p.m. Come early at 6:00 p.m. for Wednesday Night Dinner. Sunday and Wednesday classes are the same. Choose which time is most convenient for you. On Sunday, May 1, at 8:00 a.m. Session will be examining, (nothing to be scared of) and welcoming new members who will then be introduced to the Congregation during both services. Is there a topic or Bible study that you would like to explore in more depth? Are you interested in joining a small group? Please contact [email protected] with your suggestions or speak to one of the committee members. St. Peter’s is the place to grow!
