Mia’s Party Patrol
Friends of Wings wanted to make sure Mia had a special birthday.
She was turning 8 just a few days after her sweet younger brother
Leo passed away at age 3 of Leukemia. The unicorn theme was taken to a whole new level as we
wanted Mia to feel the love! A limo took Mia and her friends to
Sweetology where cupcakes were decorated, a unicorn cake was
eaten, pictures were drawn, games were played and loaded goody
bags were given to all! We made sure to send Mia (and her sister)
home with some fun presents, too!
Happy Birthday Mia from the Party Patrol Team!

“Volunteering, for me, has become a "family affair"...and we love
it! Friends of Wings has given our family several opportunities to spread
kindness and cheer - to a family in need at the holidays, as well as to
celebrate a birthday with a teenage boy, his family and grandparents. As
a family, we hope this sets an example for our own daughter to share
kindness when given future opportunities.”

Holiday Gift Giving The Holiday Gift Giving program helps relieve some of the
“normal” stresses of time and finances which are
exacerbated when a family is caring for a sick child. This
team shops, wraps and delivers gifts of “wants, wishes and
needs” to Wings’ families in November and December.
This program has helped families during the holidays by
providing household items, toys and clothing in a
compassionate and supportive manner. Adopting a family is
a wonderful way to teach children how be charitable and to
involve them in a community project. It is also a wonderful
team building opportunity at the close of the corporate
year. Please share with your friends and families who are
looking to enrich their holiday experience by giving back this
season!
