Overnight ight to Milan, Italy. Day 2 ~  Arriving in Milan, we’ ll join our guide and enjoy a tour of this historic city . We’ll celebrate Mass at the Basilica of St. Ambrose, where the saint – one of the four Latin Doctors of the Church – is buried.  After Mass, we’ll see the Duomo di Milano, a magnicent Gothic cathedral that began construction in 1386 and nished in 1809, and da Vinci’s Last S upper in the convent adjacent to the church of Santa Maria delle Grazie, before proceeding to our hotel for check-in. Dinner . Overnight Milan Day 3 ~ oday, we travel to Codogno, where St. Frances Xavier Cabrini founded the Institute of Mission- aries of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Our rst stop is the St. Frances Cabrini Center of Spirituality , where our spiritual director will oer Mass. We’ll then tour this special location and learn more about the founding of St. Frances’ order. We’ll visit the museum and venerate a relic of St. Frances’ heart. From there, we will travel to Sant’Angelo Lodigiano, the birthplace of St. Frances. Te Basilica of St. Anthony the Abbot and St. Frances Cabrini, a beautiful church which contains a relic of St. Franc es in the marble altar at the chap- el that bears her name. After venerating her relic, we will visit the reconstruction of her childhood home in a local museum before returning to Milan for dinner. Overnight Milan Day 4 ~  We bid farewell to Milan and journey t o Florence. Along the way , we’ll visit Bologna, a medieval city with the oldest European university. Bologna was home to both St. Catherine of Bologna and St. Dominic. We’ll visit Basilica of San Domenico, where a young Mozart once played the organ. We’ll ven- erate St. Dominic’ s resting place and the Sanctuary of the Madonna di San Luca, home to the Byzantine portrait of the Virgin and Child, thought to be painted by St. Luke the Evangelist. After celebrating Mass in the basilica, we will proceed to Florence, Europe’s premier artistic capital. Following check-in to our hotel, we’ll enjoy dinner in a ne ristorante. Overnight Florence Day 5 ~ oday, we’ll begin the day by celebrating Mass at the magnicent Franciscan church of Santa Croce, known for its beautiful marble facade. Te church is a burial place of nobles, among which is Mi- chelangelo, Galileo, and Machiavelli. Our guided tour of Florence will continue through Republic Square to the Santa Maria del Fiore, a 13th century cathedral. After lunch, we’ll visit L ’Accadamia where we will view Michelangelo’ s “David” as well as other works of art. Tere’ll be free time to explore the museum and the rest of Florence. Dinner. Overnight Florence Day 6 ~  We visit the medieval city of Siena, St. Catherine’ s home. Our sp iritual director will o er Mass at the Basilica of St. Dominic, where we’ll learn more about St. Catherine’s relics, work and ministry. While in Siena, we’ll have time to adore the Eucharistic Miracle of Siena, consecrated hosts that have remained nearly uncorrupted for over 200 years! Dinner. Depart for Assisi. Overnight Assisi Day 7 ~  We will visit the hilltop birt hplace of St. Francis o f Assisi that still r etains something of t he atmo- sphere of the early 1200s when St. Francis began his ministry . Following lunch at one of the trattorias in  Assisi, we will proceed up the hill to the Church of St. Clare, the foundress of the Poor Clares, to view the saint’ s body, barely corrupt since her death. After celebrating Mass, we’ll visit the Basilica of St. Fran- cis of Assisi, to view some of the saint’ s possessions and the many frescoes depicting his life. We proceed to Eremo delle Carceri, a monastery containing the primitive cell used by St. Frances of Assisi. Dinner. Overnight Assisi Day 8 ~ On the way to Rome, we’ll visit the lower village of Assisi, where our spiritual director will oer Mass at the church of St. Mary of the Angels where St. Francis spent most of his life. We’ll also visit the Chapel Portiuncola, the rose bush and the cave where the saint retired for prayer. Upon arriving in Rome,  we’ll visit the Basilica of S t. Mary Maj or, as well as St. John Latera n. Dinner. Overnight Rome Day 9 ~ Following breakfast, we will visit the Church of the Most Holy Redeemer and St. Frances Cabrini,  where the relic of her head i s preserved in a statue of her likeness. Follo wing Mass, we’ll t our Rome, start- ing with Palantine Hill, the oldest section of Rome. We’ll visit the Colosseum, the Arch of Constantine, and the Roman Forum, as well as the Mamertine Prison where St. Peter and St. Paul were imprisoned for nine months, converting their jailors amd fellow prisoners. Overnight Rome Day 10 ~ Following breakfast, we participate in the papal audience (subject to the pope’ s schedule). In the early afternoon we’ll have a guided tour of the Vatican Museum, Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter’s Basilica. Dinner. Overnight Rome Day 11 ~  With a renewed sense of pilgrimage and an invigorated lov e of our Catholic fait h, we say farewell to the Eternal City and board our ight for home.

Day 1 ~ Our pilgrimage to Italy begins as we board our flight from our local airport to Milan.Overnight flight to Milan, Italy.

Day 2 ~  Arriving in Milan, we’ll join our guide and enjoy a tour of this historic city. We’ll celebrate Massat the Basilica of St. Ambrose, where the saint – one of the four Latin Doctors of the Church – is buried.

Pilgrimage Terms & Conditions: 

Itineraries: Itineraries are prepared and scheduled in advance according to the best information available at the time and are subject to change bythe date of the pilgrimage.

Pricing: Canterbury Pilgrimages & ours Inc. reserves the right to adjust pricing should the following occur; (1) Rise in Airfare due to higher fuelcosts etc. (2) Rise in ground costs due to increases in hotel charges, bus fares, fees, taxes and other costs due to the fluctuating value of the U.S. dollaragainst foreign currency.

Deposits and final Payments: A deposit of $450.00 per person is required to hold your reservation of which $200.00 is non-refundable* (May berefundable under travel insurance conditions). Final payment is due 75 days prior to departure date. Payment can be made by check / credit card.Phone 800.653.0017 to make a credit card payment.

Cancellation fees: If cancellation in writing is received by Canterbury Pilgrimages & ours Inc. more than 75 days prior to departure all paymentsmade toward the price of the tour will be refunded, less a $200.00 processing fee. For cancellations received less than 75 days prior to departure, theinitial deposit of $450.00 plus any applicable charges imposed by the airlines, hotels, and bus companies on Canterbury Pilgrimages & ours will benon-refundable. Please note that the amount may vary with each pilgrimage and the vendors we work with. Canterbury Pilgrimages & ours Inc.retains the right to cancel any pilgrimage up to the departure date in which case all funds received will be returned with-in 10 business days.

Baggage: Please follow the general rule of traveling light - If you cannot carry it do not bring it. Passengers are permitted one piece of luggage perperson. Baggage handling is included for one suitcase per person only, whenever possible, in the cost of the pilgrimage. Te airlines for internationalflights will not allow a suitcase exceeding 50 pounds (subject to change), if over 50lbs., the fees can be costly. On inter-European flights, which are notdirectly connected to a transatlantic flight the baggage weight limit is lower. We will provide you with this information in the final travel documents.Baggage handling is not available on any of the trains. Every effort will be made to handle luggage carefully, however Canterbury Pilgrimages & oursInc. will not assume any liability for lost or damaged luggage or items inside luggage carrier. (ravel insurance may apply)

Travel insurance: We strongly recommend the purchase of travel insurance (personal accident / trip cancellation / baggage insurance). CanterburyPilgrimages & ours Inc. cannot accept responsibility for accidents, trip cancellations, or handling of baggage not under our control. All categoriesof insurance may be purchased from Canterbury as provided by Allianz ravel Insurance.

Not Included: Gratuities, room service, laundry, telephone calls, and all personal expenses.

Liability: Canterbury Pilgrimages & ours, Inc., and their employees, shareholders, officers and directors (collectively “CP” ) do not own or operate any entity which is to or does provide goods or services foryour pilgrimage including, for example, lodging facilities, transportation companies, local ground operators, including, without limitation, various entities which may utilize the CP name, guides, sightseeingcompanies, entertainment, food or drink ser vice providers, equipment suppliers, etc. As a result, CP is not responsible for any negligent or willful act or failure to act of any person or entity. In addition, CP isnot responsible for any negligent or willful act or failure to act of any person or entity they do not own or control, nor for any act or inaction of any other third party not under their control. Without limitationsCP is not liable for any direct, indirect, consequential, or incidental damage, injury, death, loss, accident, delay, inconvenience or irregularity of any kind which may be occasioned by reason of any act or omission

Should any of the persons listed in the tentative itinerary and schedule of speakers be unable to participatein this event, every effort will be made to secure a substitute. Regardless of the participation of persons listed in the tentative itinerary and schedule of speakers the pilgrimage tour will proceed as scheduled on thedates listed. By signing this form to participate in this pilgrimage tour, you agree that the terms of the cancellation penalty will be binding upon you regardless of whether persons listed in the tentative itineraryand schedule of speakers are able to participate. CP will not be responsible for any loss incurred by traveler, including lost days of the scheduled tour, due to a cancelled flight or other means and modes of trans-portation. Please investigate purchasing travel insurance as recommended, to cover any type of loss associated with cancelled air or other transportation.
