Scherer Emil C. Scherer. 68, a retired funeral director, died Tuesday at ihis home. 10 Elm PL, Lancaster. He had been in failing health for several years. Until retiring in 1957, he was a partner in the former Seeger & Scherer Funeral Home at 5486 Broadway, Lancaster, now the Stutzman-Zurbrick Funeral Home, 5615 Broadway. In 1920, Mr. Scherer and Frank M. Seeger joined part- nership and took over a funeral business founded in 1869 by Mr. Seeger's father, the late Fred C. Seeger. They operated the firm until 1957 when they sold out to Gerald P. Stutzman and Howard L. Zurbrick. The business was continued under the name of Seeger & Scherer until changed to Stutzman and Zurbrick last January. Born in Mahanoy City Pa., Mr. Scherer came to Lancaster as a boy and attended public schools there. He was graduated from the Eckels Embalming School in Philadelphia. Mr. Seeger formerly was active in Lancaster civil defense and was a former member of the Lan- easted Draft Board. He was a of the Lancaster Elks Mr. Baldo, a policeman for 25 years, died Tuesday of a heart attack at his home, 33 Preston St., Depew. In 1955. he was appointed acting chief of police by the Depew Village Board and he served in that capacity until 1961. He was the organizer of the Depew Police Reserves and was head of the Lancaster Area Civil Defense for the last three years. He was born in Depew and at- tended the public schools there During World War II. he served five years with the Armv Military Police in the Pacific Theater Mr. Baldo's first wife, the for- mer Florence Nicosia, died 11 years ago. Obituaries Emil C. Scherer

Emil C. Scherer. 68, a retired funeral director, died Tuesday at

ihis home. 10 Elm PL, Lancaster. He had been in failing health for several years.

Until retiring in 1957, he was a partner in the former Seeger & Scherer Funeral Home at 5486 Broadway, Lancaster, now the Stutzman-Zurbrick Funeral Home, 5615 Broadway.

In 1920, Mr. Scherer and Frank M. Seeger joined part­nership and took over a funeral business founded in 1869 by Mr. Seeger's father, the late Fred C. Seeger. They operated the firm until 1957 when they sold out to Gerald P. Stutzman and Howard L. Zurbrick. The business was continued under the name of Seeger & Scherer until changed to Stutzman and Zurbrick last January.

Born in Mahanoy City Pa., Mr. Scherer came to Lancaster as a boy and attended public schools there. He was graduated from the Eckels Embalming School in Philadelphia.

Mr. Seeger formerly was active in Lancaster civil defense and was a former member of the Lan-easted Draft Board. He was a

Mr. Baldo, a policeman for 25 years, died Tuesday of a heart attack at his home, 33 Preston St., Depew.

In 1955. he was appointed acting chief of police by the Depew Village Board and he served in that capacity until 1961. He was the organizer of the Depew Police Reserves and was head of the Lancaster Area Civil Defense for the last three years.

He was born in Depew and at­tended the public schools there During World War II. he served five years with the Armv Military Police in the Pacific Theater

Mr. Baldo's first wife, the for­mer Florence Nicosia, died 11 years ago.

Surviving are his second wife. Madlynne: two stepdaughters. Mrs. Norbert J. Boron and Mrs. Robert Tarasek: three stepsons. Donald. Robert and Michael: five sisters.
