"Millions of dollars of the taxpay- eys' money have been spent on garbage disposal in this borough, and the net result seems to be that we have a series of loathesome dumps, a breeding place for disease, and a blot on the landscape," said Michael J. Iorio of Astoria, president of the Councils. Mass Rally Tonight To Protest Dumps ^

An intensive drive to end garbage dumping in Queens once and for all will be launched at a mass meeting this evening in Newtown High School under the auspices of Queens Com­munity Councils.

"Millions of dollars of the taxpay-eys' money have been spent on garbage disposal in this borough, and the net result seems to be that we have a series of loathesome dumps, a breeding place for disease, and a blot on the landscape," said Michael J. Iorio of Astoria, president of the Councils.

The mass meeting will start at 8 o'clock in the hish school, Chicago avenue and Gerry street, Emhurst.

A receiver may be appointed for thaw. assets of Dr. Sigmund Heksh, medical -director of Shelton Hospital, Supreme Court Justice Selah B. Strong ruled yesterday.

Julius Auserehl, builder, of 138-11 Queens boulevard, Jamaica, made the application in Jamaica Special Term, m an action to recover a judgment off $150 against the physician for materials supplied to the hospital at 175-10 88tth avenue, Jamaica. ;-

The builder claims that Dr. Heksh assigned a valuable lease for the hos­pital property to his wife after he had contracted to pay for the sup­plies. The institution was formerly known as the Hillside Sanitarium.

Dr. Heksh resides at 64-26 Dry Harbor road, Middle Village.

Springfield Boy Struck by Auto

Albert Civine, 7-year-old pupil of St. Mary Magdalene School, Spring­field, today was resolving never to cross the street between crossings, as he nursed bruises caused by an auto­mobile accident.

The child, who lives at 331-06 137th avenue, Springfield, police report, was struck by a car driven by Joseph Cook of 331-31 Edmore avenue, Queens Vil­lage, yesterday, as he was going home from school. Medical attention was refused by the boy.
