THE DUNCAN DYNAMICS Trust God

In our daily lives, we may face adversities but if we place our trust in the Lord, He

gives the courage to face these situations. When we look at a deeply rooted tree ,it is

unshakable through any calamity of nature. Likewise, our faith and trust in the Lord,

should be like that of a deeply rooted tree, so that we can stand the test of times and

face adversities with courage.

Psalm 118. 8-9 says, It is better to take

refuge in the Lord than to trust in man. It is

better to take refuge in the Lord than to

trust in princes. When we trust the Lord, he

takes care of our needs in His own wonder-

ful ways. Just like how a child asks his fa-

ther to provide for his needs, we too ,can

ask our heavenly father to provide for us.

In Luke 18 : 41 Jesus asks a blind man

What do you want me to do for you ?As he believes in Him, he says, "Lord I want to

see” because of his faith ,he receives sight immediately. When you pray about a prob-

lem, God either gives you a solution or He works through your life to find a solution.

Sometimes ,it may be impossible to keep the faith ,but come what may, God would al-

ways want to deliver you from that phase in life. As it is rightly said,' What is impossi-

ble with men is possible with God. Luke 18:27.’

In the Scripture we read stories of people who faced difficult times, like Moses and

Daniel, humanly speaking those situations would have been impossible to tide through,

but these servants of God rightly brought these things in prayer and eventually made

through. When we bring impossible things to God we need to change our thinking and

say “everything is POSSIBLE with God! God is able to do far beyond what you and I

can ask or think. So think great things and ask great things, and see him do even more!.

6 reasons why we should trust in God

2. He will fight for you ( Exodus 14:14)

3. He thinks about you ( Psalms 139:17)

4. He has plan for you ( Jeremiah 29: 11)

5. He is your refuge ( Psalms 62: 6-8)

You may be facing a situation that looks impossible and you could easily let it overwhelm you, but God

would give you the strength for that battle. He said you would never face something that you cannot han-

dle.When a train goes through a tunnel and it gets dark, you don’t throw away the ticket and jump off. You sit

still and trust the engine driver. Trust in God today no matter how dark your situation is.

Are you facing any impossible situation today ? Whatever your impossibility may be, take it and intro-

duce it to the God . As Jesus said in Mark 10:27 “ For people it is impossible, but not with God; for all things

are possible with God”. Instead of looking at the impossible problems in front of you, trust that God is good.

He cares for you and has a wonderful plan in your difficult situation. And when you step out in faith, believe

that he will provide exactly what you need in that moment.

It is impossible to have strong faith in tough times! So let your “IMPOSSIBLE” meet God. The beginning

of trusting in God is the end of worry .If you are going through difficult times, keep trusting God He knows

how to bless you in unexpected ways. God never disappoints anyone who places his trust in him. No matter

what happens in life, keep a good heart, A heart of trust and patience. Don’t let the darkness of some people

harden your heart. In Jeremiah 17 :7-8 God says, Trust God I will bless the person who puts his trust in me.

FROM THE SCHOOL OF NURSING DESK:

The International Council of Nurses (ICN) designated May 12, the birthday of nursing pio-

neer Florence Nightingale, as International Nurses Day. National Nurses Week begins each

year on May 6th and ends on May 12th, Florence Nightingale's birthday. These permanent dates enhance planning and position National Nurses Week as an established recognition event. Nurses week celebration was organized from 6th May to 11th May in the school of nursing based on the theme ,‘The balance between body mind and spirit’.

Several activities were organized and supervised by the tutors, first year and second year students participated in various activities which include quiz competition on Diabetes, Elo-cution speech, Poster presentation, and Debate on “book vs technology”. Dr Saira Pau-lose ,Mrs Sharmila Mohapatra, Dr Santhosh Matthew Dr Prabhu L Joseph ,Dr Novin C Chacko and Dr Sheena Ebenezer were the Judges of nurses week celebration. Their com-ments and feedback on performances were very encouraging that will help them to find their foundation for learning and perform their best in the future ahead. All the students ac-tively participated and won the prizes. Nursing students conducted nutritional exhibition on different types of diet to help the patients gain knowledge and understanding.

Indeed it was a pleasure to celebrate nurses’ day this year relating the theme A VOICE TO LEAD – HEALTH FOR ALL. The nursing department and SON celebrated nurses’ day on May 11th and performed a colorful events and cultural program. Nursing students presented a dance on nursing diagnosis and it was one of the amazing event. Dr Blessy Sucharita was the chief guest of the function who delivered a marvelous speech quoting her own life expe-riences relating image of a nurse during her visit to a hospital and explored the contribution of nurses with lot of encouraging phrases that really boosted all the nurses’ heart. So we can say that international nurses’ day is celebrated across the world to raise awareness about nursing as profession and also the contribu-tion made by the nurses towards the health care regime. Nurses are the people who meet the local needs of the patients who have proper knowledge about how to handle patients properly to im-prove physical, mental wellbeing of the patients etc.

I wish all the nurses across EHA and other hospital a very happy Nurses Day and may we all continue to serve the humanity self-lessly.

THE LEHMANNITES REPORT Big plans were made for an outside learning experience Little did we realise the nightmares that awaited us Crowded trains with heavy scents welcomed us aboard Protected though cornered, we sat safe amidst the military horde. Relief hit us when at Sagauli, we found some air to breathe The sun decided to tattoo on us a welcome note for an hour's length The loving atmosphere of home made us relax at COMDENT The savoury smells of homecooked food soothed our growling gut. Friendly smiles and familiar faces eased the fears The red dingy corriders scared us but soon became familiar The enormity of the work done was covered in an orientation pack The longing eyes of the patients drew us to set to work. The devotions on fear of God nailed it through us Drove it down into our actions and lives The patients indeed inspired us to learn a language new As they spat Bhojpuri on our faces in a spew. We were nurtured and taught in the wards by nurses young and old; All suddenly chose roles to play in our lives, so bold They taught like no tutor could and befriended like no best friend could - Days spent here were less but are a lifetime folded away into our hearts' folds. Doctors got down to teach my students the techniques of delivery assisted Juniors, seniors – despite the varied levels, made sure concern was showered; What a blessing to be part of this huge family of health care We saw all emotions reducing to love and in an act of God's fear. Illiteracy and poverty dug black circles around orbits and did deafen Pain marred the youthhood and appearances of the women Burden and debts made the men ruder and rougher Bihar suffers like a woman born to be in labor forever. (We assure our prayers) As we await to leave, I can assure

We enjoyed security amidst the folorn feel We felt the presence of God envelop as an orange peal We saw humanness in the midst inhumane dominance We experienced love of the EHA family essence We learnt to forego our leisure to meet our needs We grew a lot closer to each other ignoring the negative leads

[realizing the] glory. We are the evidence for the above verse written by Paul to the Colossians during our stay in Duncan Hospital, Raxaul.
