  • Completed in 23 BCE. His tomb was started before he even took power because he wanted to show that he intended to be buried in Rome. Built on the Campus Martius. During ancient times it looked like a mound with rings of trees growing on it. This tomb was made in the style of early Roman settlers. A large statue of Augustus once topped the mound.
