Success for All Students
Stadium Renovation Project
171 Raider Circle
Mt. Airy, GA 30563
Student Safety & Field Condition
• Our field is 45 years old.
• Current irrigation presents safety issues.
• Drains are lower than field line; field is not level and off center.
• The field does not drain properly due to compaction.
• Current field size is not adequate for some sports.
• The current lighting at the stadium is inadequate.
• The current track at the stadium is only 6 lanes and is not approved
for competition meets
• Adding two lanes to the track will eliminate the need for students to
be bussed or to drive to other facilities.
• A turf field will reduce weather related delays and/or cancellations.
• Greater return on investment relative to long term track and field
maintenance expenses.
Increase use of field from 30 events per year to 250 events per year.

Project Description
This stadium renovation project will address the following needs: replacement of the existing natural turf field with an artificial/synthetic turf system, replacement of the existing (6) lane track with an (8) lane track system, replacement of the existing lighting, replacement of the existing scoreboard and sound system, and renovation of the existing visitor’s side concession stand to accommodate a press box and additional restroom/locker room facilities.
The base bid will include the eight (8) lane track, artificial turf field, lighting, scoreboard and sound system. Please stipulate costs difference if any of the above mentioned items are omitted from the base bid.
The DBF will provide options to replace the existing natural turf field with an artificial turf field, suitable for multi-purpose sport use. Each option will have an associated cost and provide maintenance and warranty information. At a minimum, the existing sod will be removed, the field will be laser graded, and an artificial turf field will be installed. Consideration mustbe given to reuse and/or repurpose of the existing turf with such options included in the RFP response. Project shall include, but is not limited to, establishing all underground conduits, connecting to existing utilities, installation of new drainage and irrigation system into existing infrastructure, installation of two (2) long/triple jump pits and pole vault boxwith runways, and providing D-Zone options. Options for placement of existing discus cage and shot put area to be addressed.
The DBF will provide multiple cost options including polyurethane full pour, sandwich and paved in place track systems. Each option will have an associated cost and provide maintenance and warranty information. Installation of the track system will include but is not limited to installation of the track trench drain, including the inside and outside concrete edges as required. DBF will also provide a cost option of relocating the start/finish line to the already established home side of the field. Consideration must be given to reuse and or repurpose of the existing track with such options included in the RFP response.
The DBF will provide options to replace the existing stadium lighting. Consideration must be given to placement of new lighting in order to accommodate the track expansion.
Please list each above mentioned option as an individual line item.
