The Fundamentals of Endovascular Therapy Symposium will provide a

comprehensive state-of-the-art review of the many aspects of vascular

disease, with a focus on diagnosis and management. Developed in

conjunction with the Society of Vascular Medicine (SVM), this program

is designed for residents, fellows, and practitioners in the fields of

interventional radiology, interventional cardiology, vascular surgery, and

vascular medicine who have an interest in the clinical evaluation and

interventional therapeutic options for patients with peripheral arterial

disease, aortic aneurysms, venous disease, pulmonary embolism,

dialysis access issues, carotid disease, and stroke. The multidisciplinary

faculty will review the latest guidelines, discuss diagnostic and treat-

ment algorithms, and provide practical clinical pearls and technical tips

and tricks that will be valuable to daily practice. Highlights include inter-

active case-based sessions, a live vascular physical exam, and review of

the latest clinical trial data. While designed for those in the early stages

of their career, more seasoned practitioners may also benefit from

the comprehensive overview of vascular and endovascular medicine.

overview of peripheral and central access routes for vascular pro-

cedures, with a focus on proper technique, safety, and applications.

Multiple options for vascular access, including femoral, popliteal,

pedal, radial, brachial, and aortic, will be discussed, as will the use of

ultrasound imaging to guide the access procedure. The program will

cover pre-closure techniques and new and emerging closure devices

we look at major forces influencing healthcare, and the world in which

we live, through the eyes of one of the most well-known international

‘futurists’ and distill these ideas to more immediate changes foreseen in

our field.

addition of endarterectomy or stenting for stroke prevention, as well as

a glimpse into the rapidly evolving area of interventional stroke therapy.

Learn about the latest stenting and embolic protection technologies as

well as the management of CAS in low-risk patients.
